Warriors: Wishes For Four

Chapter 8

SharkPaw came back into the camp, and looked around for SpottedStar. She heard pawsteps followed by a loud voice before she could find him.
"SharkPaw? Why have you three come alone?" SharkPaw turned. It was the deputy, SilverBreeze. "Uh-the others-our mentors-they..they heard pawsteps and smelled Riverclan. They said to go back to camp and they would be right there after they investigated." SpeckledPaw walked up to them and confirmed her claim. SiverBreeze sighed. He looked concerned for a moment, then mewed, "Alright, I suppose we'll see what it was soon." as if answering questions that were only in his own mind. After he padded away, SpeckledPaw turned to SharkPaw. "Now we can train together!" He mewed happily, then pouncing on SharkPaw without warning. SharkPaw was startled by this, her eyes having been focused on her brothers training in the distance. However, she laughed and tackled back, batting a small front paw at SpeckledPaw and knocking him off of her. "Nice move!"  SpotHeart complimented, sitting down by HazelPaw as she ran to join ShadePaw and BadgerPaw. DewClaw padded by, and grabbed a piece of fresh-kill. "The apprentices have been good hunters lately, not just fighters." He commented as he looked at the fresh-kill pile, amused. SharkPaw flicked a bit of dirt off her ear and stood up when she noticed the shape of a cat walking through the thorn tunnel. Are the warriors back? Was there going to be a fight? Or could this be riverclan... SharkPaw felt frightened at the thought of a clan invading their camp. However, she felt both calm down, and happy when she recognized her father, IceTail. SilverBreeze sat near the entrance, and looked annoyed. IceTail dipped his head. "Greetings, SilverBreeze." The shadowclan deputy rolled his eyes, and mewed a quick greeting as SharkPaw's father walked by him, glancing around for familiar cats. SharkPaw's ears flattened. Wait...IceTail is in Riverclan! I don't want him to be judged...he would never....wait...is that what the pawsteps and scent was? But it was obviously more than one cat... IceTail's kind voice broke her thoughts. "SharkKit!" He exclaimed, running up to his kit. SharkPaw hesitated to correct him, afraid of sounding rude or overly proud of herself. SpottedStar suddenly walked into view. "She was made an apprentice earlier today." He purred. "She's SharkPaw now." IceTail dipped his head. "Hello, SpottedStar. That's wonderful news to hear." He turned back to SharkPaw and mewed: "I'm very proud of you. It was about time." SharkPaw purred, happy to see her father again. HazelPaw ran up to them shortly after. "IceTail!" she squealed.
Soon, DarkFlower had sat down to talk with her mate, and HazelPaw and her brothers trained in front of them, trying to impress their parents. SharkPaw had been told to bring the elders clean bedding first, so she did. After chatting with the elders and restocking their moss, She padded out to see FinchNose, StripeFur, and FoxLilly returning to camp. "Thank StarClan." StripeFur meowed, stretching. "IceTail, I think you almost gave FoxLilly a heart attack." FoxLilly glared at him. "I haven't seen him before!" She hissed. "Besides, did you really have to come with another cat? Especially one that huge." She asked, her tail lashing. IceTail padded closer to them. "My apologies." He mewed. "He used to be one of Shadowclan, and wanted to see your part of the forest again. He paused. "And we've heard news of more foxes and monsters being out. They wanted me to be safe, and not go alone." FoxLilly grunted, and walked away. StripeFur looked at IceTail apologetically. "Pay no attention to her." he purred. "She's been grumpy lately." IceTail nodded and walked back to DarkFlower.

"Come join your litter-mates, SharkPaw." He meowed as he walked. SharkPaw padded over to her family and pounced on HazelPaw. FinchNose walked over to them, and commented and corrected some things as they trained. This is it. SharkPaw thought. I'm a warrior apprentice.
