I had never given it much thought as to how my life would be when I grew up. I'd never had any intentions of falling in love, having children, getting married, or meeting anybody in general. Until him that is, I never wanted to admit my feelings for him in fear of losing our friendship. But staring into his beautiful brown eyes lifted all of that fear out of me. Which, of course, frightened me even more. I didn't want to fall for somebody, I didn't want anybody to fall for me, but somehow he made it so easy to disregard my boundaries.
I look down at the sand as it slightly glistens in the sunlight. The pink and red rose petals scattered across it, all of our friends surrounding us. My eyes scan the beautiful petals as they spell out "marry me?"
I look up at him with teary eyes and smile.
"Will you?" He whispers.
