Chapter 13

Thursday, 1 August 2019.
Maya Hunter got engaged the previous night to the love of her life without overreacting.
She is the happiest girl alive and nothing could change that.

Maya was drinking coffee while Josh went to get Auggie from his brother.
She had about ten minutes to think about what happened the previous night.
She was still on cloud nine and couldn't believe she is engaged.

"Maya!" Auggie said and ran to Maya.
"Hey Buddy," Maya said giving the boy a hug.
"Did you enjoy the sleepover?" Maya asked.
"Yeah," Auggie said.
"That's good."
"I'm gonna put my bag away," Auggie said and ran to his room.
"I still can't believe you asked me," Maya said and Josh sat down next to her.
"Do you remember when you and Riley snuck out to that college party of mine?"
"Yeah," Maya said.
"I knew back then I wanted to be with you. I was just scared of what people would say. A seventeen year old dating a fourteen year old. I guess no one thought that three years made suck a big difference," Josh said.
"Four years ago you knew that?" Maya asked.
"Yeah. Too young was just something to get you off my back," Josh said.
"While you knew it didn't actually matter to you," Maya said.
"Yeah," Josh said and then Auggie came out.

"Hey Buddy. Why don't we get going? We have some exciting news to tell everyone," Maya said.
"Okay," Auggie said and they were gone.

Everyone was congratulating the couple who just told them the exciting news that they are engaged and some of them can barely believe it.
In fact Riley still can't believe that her best friend is going to be her aunt.
Maya and Josh were also very different during breakfast.
Not like an engaged couple.
They were so much more happier than anyone ever saw them.
