"As it says on the application requirements, you listeners will be conducting ten-minute mock urban battles after this!" Present Mic yelled as he did some odd hand gestures, the screen behind him switching from the UA logo to a small scale of the mock city. "Three different types of faux villains are stationed in each battle center," he announced as 3 silhouettes of the faux villains appeared on the screen. "You earn points for each of them based on their level of difficulty. Your goal, dear listeners, is to use your quirks to earn points by immobilizing the faux villains," he said as it showed a small pixelated mini-game of Present Mic defeating faux villains.
"Mock battles huh... this is kinda unfair..." Yasumi mumbled to herself as she thought of Hitoshi's quirk. She frowned a bit but then shook her head. 'No! I have to focus on getting in...' she thought to herself as she took off her jacket, the chilly wind nipped at her exposed skin. She tied it around her waist and looked at the tattoo on her right shoulder. It was in the shape of a paw.
Her focus then shifted to a green-haired boy who was about to approach the brunette who had saved him from falling. 'Oh... we're in the same battle center?' The boy was then stopped by the bluenette who called him out during the explanation. They were too far for Yasumi to listen in on their conversation, though the familiar green-haired boy seemed very nervous when talking to the strict boy in glasses. He seemed to be scolding the poor boy.
"That guy's the one who was about to trip in front of the school gates, right?" one examinee muttered.
"The one who winced after being called out," a muscular boy added.
"At the very least we have one less rival to worry about, huh?"
Yasumi's brows knit together in slight irritation. Hearing all the other examinees make fun of him regardless of his feelings ticked her off. She let out a sigh and walked through the crowd and towards the anxious boy. She gently tapped his shoulder, causing him to look away from the bluenette and focus her attention onto her.
"Hey... don't listen to them okay? Just try your best, I'm sure you'll do great," Yasumi said truthfully. The freckled boy's eyes widened slightly at the encouragement, his cheeks turning a light shade of pink.
"U-um... Yeah.. thanks..." he stuttered as Yasumi smiled at the nervous boy. She looked at the bluenette who was just standing there, the two making eye contact for a few seconds before a familiar voice echoed throughout the area.
"Okay, start!" Present Mic yelled into a microphone. Everyone turned towards the tower where the voice emitted from, no one moving towards the mock city. "What's wrong? There are no countdowns in real fights! Run, run! The die has been cast, you know!" he said at the top of the tower. Everyone started running towards the mock city- minus the green-haired boy.
'Focus Yasumi, focus focus...' The brunette chanted in her head as she separated from the group of people and went down an alleyway. Once through the narrow alleyway she came across a three-pointer. It turned towards her and it's red eye focused on her. "Target acquired. Prepare to be destroyed!" it said in a robotic voice and dashed towards her.
