Dahlia and Henrik stepped out of the shadows, gathering the attention of everyone present.
"Hey guys, meet my auntie, Dahlia," introduced Henrik, causing Dahlia's lips to twitch in the barest hint of a smile, at the affectionate way he used the word 'aunt'.
"Auntie, meet Davina, Marcel, and Malachai," Kai looked less than pleased at the use of his full name, but he didn't mind when Henrik used it. He started to like his name, all thanks to the love of his life. He could never, in his wildest dreams, imagine that he would freely admit that he loved someone. His father made sure to remind him every day that he was defective, an abomination and a freak. As a child, he wasn't even allowed to touch other people. When Henrik found out, his uncontrolled magic almost destroyed the Prison Falls.
"Nice to meet you," smiled Dahlia politely, cautious of new people. Having only Freya to talk to, who wasn't fond of her, dulled her people's skills.
"Nice to meet you too, Dahlia. We've heard a lot about you," Davina elaborated when she noticed her confused expression. "Henrik told us everything about his awesome and powerful aunt, who beat death and invented a badass immortality spell," teased Davina. It looks like she enjoyed flustering him. Henrik scowled at her, looking more adorable than threatening. Dahlia had no idea that her nephews and nieces knew about her, let alone admired her that much. It was... pleasant.
"I've heard how you need every firstborn of the Mikaelson line in order to keep the spell going, but I think I have a solution for you," told her Henrik, gathering Dahlia's attention. "Davina here belonged to the local coven. Who's magic is location-based. Every year they conduct a ritual called Harvest when they sacrifice four young witches, who represent elements, their blood, and magic, keeps townspeople's magic strong and potent. Davina was the last to be sacrificed. Meaning that currently, she holds all the power, of all the previous ancestors that ever lived and practiced magic here, including her own and that of the three Harvest girls," told her Henrik, causing Dahlia's eyes to bug out of her eye sockets. She understood very well what type of power her nephew meant. "Unfortunately, the human body can't handle that type of power, as you well know," told her Henrik. "So if Davina doesn't complete the ritual, her powers will cause her body to deteriorate from the inside out. I found another solution," smirked Henry, intriguing everyone, but Davina already knew what he meant.
"What if you use Davina instead of the firstborn? with the powers she possesses, she outvalues that of a few firstborns. She needs help to control it though, someone who could teach and guide her, a mentor. It's like a match made in heaven. You two can help each other," passionately told her Henrik. "So what do you say, auntie?"
"If I accept her, I will no longer require the Mikaelson firstborns," smiled Dahlia, catching on. After a while, she nodded. "Children are such a pain. I'd rather link with someone who's willing and won't cry for their mummy and daddy," told them, Dahlia, causing Henrik to sigh with relief.
"One war averted, few more to go," muttered Henrik, causing Kai to hug him from the behind.
"What wars?" asked Dahlia curiously, unaware of the tense atmosphere in New Orleans, after all, she just woke up from her hundred-year slumber.
