CHAPTER SIXTEEN
*CASS' POV*
The emerging sunlight on my room's window woke me up. Its ray straightly poking my eye to cut my sleep. I covered my head with my blanket which unfortunately, is thin enough to let the sunshine through.
Such rudeness, Mr. Sun.
Last night's been a long night, I can't hardly sleep after my phone beeped when I positioned myself to doze off. Sky texted me random things and funny stuff that it battled away my drowsiness. I looked like a girl going crazy curling on my bed as the laughter ached my belly.
We even sneaked out our rooms to have coffee which the internet said, causes restlessness and insomnia. Then we walked out when the storm completely left and looked up the sky, with the moon trying hard to peep through the thick dark clouds. Sitting on the damp stairs of the villa's porch with our cups in hand.
I remembered him opening up the matter about us. What we'll do when we get caught and what are the consequences behind it.
He's been honest with me. Frankly saying maybe he'll ignore me for the rest of his life, because only time will tell if we'll be friends or not. He said it depends upon the situation.
I wonder what situation that is, he didn't tell me.
I breathe deep and rolled flat on my bed as I blinked my eyes repeatedly, trying to adjust on the bright room.
"Bye bye storm." I said to myself, followed by a yawn. Pushing myself up to sit and rubbed an eye with my palm.
With my lousy state, I stood up scratching my belly and head just like a monkey. There's so much to do today for the rain faded away, but I feel so lazy and the bed's tempting me to sleep again.
I walked to the windows and swayed open the curtains. I shot my head back to move my eyes away from the glowing sun. It was like yesterday, still bright, warm but refreshing. I peered up the sky to find its ocean-like blue color and outreached a hand to let the heat touch my skin.
Mr. Sun's not being rude after all. What a wonderful day.
I stepped back and walked to the bathroom, pushing the door lightly and walked to the lavatory. Splashing a handful of water on my face and froze for a while. My elbows placed atop the sink frame and my eyes tightly closed.
I stayed like that for a couple of minutes before extending an arm to pull the towel from the hanger. The water's refreshing, I could stay like this forever. The towel revealed my plain face on the mirror; little dark circles under my eyes, pink lips and a very messy hair.
"Wakey, wakey girl! We’re having breakfast!" Kendra knocked.
"I'm up! Be right there." I said softly that I doubt my best friend heard it.
Before I went to the dresser, I stood in tiptoes and stretched my arms up after throwing the fabric on my bed. I overlooked the sea once more then pulled out a hair band from the drawer.
I tied my hair to an unkempt ponytail without combing it.
Wearing my loose shirt over a tank top, I went outside barefoot, stepping on the hem of my sweatpants.
I can smell the brewing coffee down the corridor and it made me feel nostalgic about last night.
Brad walked to me and greeted me with a kiss on my forehead as soon as I appeared on the stairs. I looked for Sky, busy eating and fiddling on his phone.
