CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE
*CASS' POV*
It happened too fast. I still couldn't get over of what happened last night.
"Good morning Miss Cassidy." A lady greeted her voice unfamiliar and aged.
I mumbled under my sheets, showing no interest on greeting her back with my whole face. The white pillows greeted me as I slightly opened my eyes. Great, I'm in Henderson. I came home to my mom after all the arguments and scandalous events last night.
What's wrong with me? I could've just go home at the apartment and avoid my mother for good, as long as I can.
God, I'm so weird! And the vodka made it worst!
Who would have thought the alcohol will kick in when we kissed? Argh! Freaking weird!
"Madame Miranda wants you to join her for lunch."
Lunch? I've been asleep for too long?
"Tell her I'll pass." I uttered.
"Okay. I'll just tell her and Mister Franklin you're not in the mood."
Brad. Here he goes again, adding confusion to my thoughts. "Yes please. Tell them I'm not feeling well. Thank you."
The lady let out a soft okay and walked to the door. New addition to our household? Why is my mom so used to hiring so many people when there are only two of us in our house? Is she that bored?
"Hey, wait." I called, holding my messy hair with one eye open. "Who are you again?" I asked.
"Oh, I'm sorry for not introducing myself." She stepped away from the door and stood straight by my bed. "I am Alice. I am going to be your guardian until your home school's over."
"G-guardian? What home school? I am going to summer school two days from now." I retorted with knitted brows.
"I'm only obeying the---."
I didn't let her finish and jumped off the bed, leaving her in my room. I rushed down the stairs barefoot and headed straight to the dining area.
"Mom!" I yelled, as I was about to turn to the huge room. "What is the meaning of this?"
Brad looked at me in shock with half of his spoon in his mouth. My mom as always was calm as she is.
"I'm guessing it's about the home schooling?" She asked before sipping her tea.
"Obviously." I snorted. "How could you do this to me?"
"Do what to you? I am your mother and I have the right to straighten you up. After you ran away from me and came home with that Wright, eye half-shut, you're asking me why am I doing this to you? Where have you been? What did you do?"
Moms. They are undercover police officers who are so fond of interrogating their kids until they puke out the truth. Even though they're already telling the truth, moms still think it's a lie. Yeah, that's how I define them.
I let out a sigh. "I don't want to argue with you about that. Yes, I sort of fled from you and took a couple of shots. But please take away the home school thing. Pleeeease!"
She didn't talk back and went ahead with her meal. I rolled my eyes, slowly walked towards the long table and sat opposite to where she is, right beside Brad who's respecting the mother-daughter conversation with his attention on his own silence and steak.
