CHAPTER FIFTEEN

*CASS*

We decided to call off the party, since mom made us stay here in Henderson for a week and we're completely out of time to do some planning.

Sucks. Now all the people showed dismay in front of us.

However, Sky still helped me find ways to spend time with Brad by going on our last summer getaway with just me, him, my boyfriend and K.

At Sand Harbor.

It took time to get mom's approval given the fact that Sand Harbor is quite a distance from home. The farther it is, the safer it gets. I thought. But I knew she can never say no to Sky, and his charm? I guess? Now all we have to do is pack things and drive to Lake Tahoe.

Kendra used her car while I rode with Sky again, as what mom told us so. Brad on the other hand, will catch up to us on the road. Without mom's knowing of course.

Sky brought his truck to load more drinks and goodies, while I brought the most important thing a girl should have.

Sunblock.

It's a seven-hour drive and I volunteered to switch places with Sky but he insisted to drive all along. Telling me to be quiet and still to make his trip at peace. But you know me, all I want is to bring misery in his life.

So I sang to the loud stereo song, asked him something which obviously didn't make sense and lifted my dusty feet on his shiny car's dashboard.

"Tired?" I asked him, who is constantly massaging his forehead. Probably holding in his temper.

"Nope, just a little worried."

Or maybe not. "Why?"

"Because you'll be seeing Brad again." He said.

"Huh?"

"You'll be with Brad and I'm getting paranoid that what happen at the diner will happen again. We'll never know when Miranda will send a spy to look after us." He explained.

"Don't be, everything's going to be fine."

He quickly glanced at me and I gave him a comforting smile, his chest dropped heavily with uneasiness and watched the road again.

Even though I continued annoying him on the road, he still asked me if I'm okay or if I wanted him to pull over to rest and stretch from time to time.

He even tied my hair with his wrist band when I struggled looking for a band to tuck it from the strong wind; gave me his jersey jacket to cover my low line collar; got me coffee and donut on a gas station.

When I felt like peeing in the middle of nowhere, he'll immediately pull over and gave me the umbrella he has on the back of the truck to cover myself. He'll walk away on the other side of the road to give me privacy.

Such a trustworthy guy. I thought all along he's arrogant, vain and a perv, but he's just the guy every girl wants to have. A normal one, who you can turn to.

I wonder what happened to the girl he's suppose to bring home to meet his parents. What could've gone wrong?

My senses completely shut down when I got myself tired from my child like behavior. Leaving Sky the peace he wanted. I only felt a hand shaking me to wake up when we reached the place.
