Sean sat in the living room of his house, boxes here and there that have been sitting in their spots since he moved in. He has been living here for at least three years now, and recently, he hasn't been able to keep up with his payments on it.
Before he moved, he quit his YouTube career, finally ready to move on from it. It hasn't been easy, looking through social media every now and again, seeing all the different stories the media comes up with. Some are cringey, some are a little hurtful, but he moved on from it eventually. He tried to find jobs, but none pleased him enough.

Watching whatever was on TV, he sifted through the papers of all his bills, some amounts bigger than others, his brain remembering he doesn't have that much money left. He needed a job, he needed to make more money. But he doesn't have the patience for it.
He was about to make some coffee when he saw his breath. Raising an eyebrow, he checked the temperature. It was seventy degrees, and it was sunny outside, it shouldn't be like this.

"Weird..." He said to himself when he saw a shadow behind him. Whirling around, a figure stood before him with a cane, a skull sitting at the top. They wore all black, including a black overcoat, making their shoulder-length white hair stand out, their dark eyes curious.

"Sean McLoughlin." They said in a deep, raspy voice. "I was hoping you would be here."

Sean took a step back. "Who the hell are you?"

"I'm here to get you out of debt." He said, slowly pacing around. "You're so into it, you can't get out."

"What do you know about it? I don't even know you!"

"Oh, but I know you." He stood behind him, his presence giving a creepy vibe. "You lived on your own for years..eventually becoming an internet sensation, only to quit that three years ago." Leaning closer, his lips were by his ear. "And you think you don't have your life together. You lost your spark. But I can give that all back."

Turning to him, he backed up a little. "How?"

Smirking, he reached into his coat, revealing a rolled up piece of paper, holding it out to Sean. "All you need to do..is sign this."

Sean chuckled, turning away from him. "Yeah, whatever you say buddy."

"It's not one you don't want to pass up." He said. "You will have nothing soon..no home, no phone..no nothing. I don't think you want that after losing the love of your life with all this." A step closer. "I can make you forget about all of it. All this debt..your thoughts clinging to what happened with that girl..everything."

Sean tensed up, remembering that day like it was brand new. Soon after he hung up his career, him and his ex got into a big argument to the point where she walked out on him, swearing that she will never go back. It hurts him to this day, no matter how hard he tries to squish it all down. He wants to forget, he wants to move on.
Looking at him over his shoulder, Sean held his hand out. "Let me see it."

The man smiled, letting him take it. Unraveling the paper, it felt dusty and old, like they've had it for years. The lettering was scrawled, like someone used a feather pen. Glancing through it, his thumb skid across the top, and he hissed as a small cut came out of that, dripping onto the line at the bottom.

The man immediately took it. "That is just fine." He said, staring at it gleefully.

The last thing Sean saw, was as he looked at him, his eyes were a fiery orange, before the man vanished into thin air.
