Sean sped off into the night, full of rage. He should've just let Athena stay back, no matter how much she wanted to see this through. He knew he was at max speed, but it was the like car didn't even care.
He came up onto a smaller town in the middle of nowhere, old buildings here and there, but it was like it was abandoned for years. He knew it was it, that feeling pulling him in like he was on a tight leash.
Getting out, he walked in, dust kicking up behind him from his footsteps. In front of him, Blackheart stood there, Athena in his grip, standing still.
Sean went for the chain, but Blackheart held up his free hand. "Stop...you lash out, she dies."

Growling, he lowered his hand. "Let her go first."

"Not until I have that contract." He said.
He curled his fist, beginning to reach into his pocket, pretending to try and take something out. He knows he doesn't have it, hasn't even found it. But he doesn't want her to die, he doesn't want to lose her.

Athena gave him a knowing look. "Do it, Sean."
Quickly shooting his hand out, a fireball blasted Blackheart in the face. Yelling in pain, he let go of Athena, who showed him what was on the inside of her sweatshirt pocket.
The second he saw it, he knew it was it. It was the contract. He was about to ask her how she got that when she shook her head. "Not right now. Let's fight him off."
Blackheart looked at them with anger. "Fine...if this is how you wanna do this."
He began to charge at them when a bright flash of orange caught them off guard, followed by a loud roar.
Blackheart was grabbed by the collar, shoved backwards into the dirt. Easily getting whoever it was off of them, the contract flying out onto the ground. What he saw next, made him smile.
"There you are."

It was Athena, but she was exactly like Sean. Her face was her skull, covered in fire, followed by her entire body, her clothes untouched.

It was the night of her 23rd birthday, Athena laying in bed after a long day of celebrating it. She was browsing on her phone when a whoosh of wind startled her. Sitting up, a tall figure wearing old cowboy gear stood in front of her, his white hair curling around his ears, matching his beard.

"Grandfather Carter." She said in confusion. "What is your spirit doing here?"

He took a couple steps forward. "It's time, kid." He said in his very deep voice, his accent very heavily southern. "You know what that means."
She knew exactly what he meant. Each time, from generation to generation, someone in her family takes his power of the rider. Although she was aware, she was afraid at the same time.

"Is..is it gonna hurt at all?" She asked in a small voice as she went over to him.

Carter smiled. "Only when you change for the first time. This won't at all."

Heart pounding, she took a deep breath, and, extending her hand, she gripped his tightly, feeling the power run through her veins, turning them orange. Throwing her head up towards the ceiling, his grip tightened on her until it was suddenly gone. Breathing heavily, she blinked a few times, getting her bearings back. Carter was gone, but her skin glowed orange for a few seconds before slowly dissipating to normality.

Blackheart smiled at the sight. "I knew you would come out to play."

Athena threw a fireball at his face, causing him to scream in pain. "You're not getting that contract." She said, her voice basically like Sean's when he was the rider.

He laughed. "Oh but I am." Looking at the horizon, the sun began peeking over. "Looks like you're out of time."
Sean threw his chain at him, but Blackheart caught it, throwing him overhead. He hit the brick wall of a well, the breath knocked out of him as he changed back to his normal self. Athena was thrown through a set of double doors before Blackheart picked up the contract that lay on the ground. Unraveling it, he began to speak loudly.

"This is the contract of Sanvanganza." He gazed over each name. "All of you....come to me!!"

Throwing it aside, the doors on every building were being thrown open. Then, one by one, every soul that was trapped here, came out of hiding, obeying the order, flying into Blackheart in a whirl of spiritual fog.
Sean got up, trying to avoid the spirits as he ran to where Athena was, seeing she was normal also, slowly sitting up.

"You okay?" He asked over the noise.

Athena nodded. "Yeah.." Her eyes widened as she saw what was happening, Blackheart in the middle of it all. "We gotta finish him!"

Going back out there, they stopped short, seeing a black fog around him. Once he opened his eyes, he was definitely not the same.
They were completely red, his face almost as black as his clothes, rows of what looked like sharp, jagged teeth stretching across his cheeks. When he spoke, it was like all of the spirits talking at once, sending a chill down their spines.

"My name is Legion...for we are.." He raised his arms. "Maaannyyyy."
