CHAPTER FOURTEEN;;
I didn't tell anyone about what happened to my room yesterday and the warning note that was left by the ski masked guy. I come to a conclusion that no one will believe me anyway and says it was all in my head.
At work, I told Rose about the call I had with Liam and that I was meeting up with him after work. I know it sounded crazy and as if I wasn't thinking straight but part of me still has feelings for him and I'm not going to deny that. I want to see if what he's been saying to me is true and this is the only way.
"What happened to moving on!" Rose practically screamed at my face.
No matter how many times I told her to keep her voice down or keep calm, she does the opposite of what I say. She never listens to me, just like Ethan. They are so made for each other.
"Shhhhh!" I covered her mouth when I notice a couple of customers in the café turning their heads to us.
I hope that none of them think that we were unprofessional, or even considering on making a complain about our behaviour right now to Eric, the manager who will have a fit at us for our actions.
"Don't shush me, Mia," She slapped my hand away. "You're not going anywhere with him. Especially alone. Are you out of your mind?"
"Rose--"
"Don't," She warns and I shut my mouth. "I am just looking out for you here. What you seen him did before. . .it's just the tip of the iceberg,"
"What's that suppose to mean?"
Instead if answering my question, she shook her head slightly and grabbed the tray with a cup of coffee and a slice of cheesecake before going out and serving it to the customers.
Rose's words kept replaying in my head and I was curious yet terrified as to what she might mean by what I had seen is just the tip of the iceberg.
I sighed and decided get on with work since I'm being paid to do so. I grabbed a cloth then started wiping the counter tops and putting back the things to where they are suppose to be.
"If you trust me," I hear Rose next to me and I looked up to see her holding the tray close to her chest. "You would listen on how bad this is. I know Liam more than you do,"
"Well, if you're so afraid of what he might do to me, why don't you come along?"
"As if Liam is going to let me," She rolls her eyes at me. "Tell him you have to cancel because you have homework or got food poisoning or something. I'm begging you not to go with him."
"That's the thing, Rose. I really want to go with him and hang out. I know what he did before to me and I'm trying to let that stay in the past for our relationship to work,"
"Relationship? You're planning on getting back together?"
"That's not what I said,"
"But that's what you meant,"
"I mean, yeah, okay," I sighed in defeat and knew that Rose could see right through my lies. "I still love him. And if he's trying his best to change and make us happen again, I don't see why not,"
"Fine. Just, please, please, be careful around him, okay? I don't want to see your face all bloody like last time,"
Fifteen minutes later, our shift ends and we both made our way out of the café. We stopped short when we caught sight of Liam, leaning against the wall infront of us with a bouquet of roses in hand and I could've sworn my heart skipped a beat.
