Arriving in Mystic Falls

Imarina's POV

I arrive in Atlanta the next day and get a taxi to a place called Mystic Falls. By the time I got here I have very little money left, I need to find a job asap. 'You must find coven' the voice tells me.

Enough with the coven, I'm here now and need a job if I'm going to live here I tell it. The voice doesn't object so I see a local bar called The Grill. I enter to see it quiet and frown in confusion it's nearly lunch time.

"We're closed" someone says from the front. I turn to see a boy around seventeen years old.

"Where is everyone?" I ask him confused.

"The mayor's funeral, you new to town?" he asks me. I nod my head. "The name's Matt" he says holding a hand out.

"Imarina" I say shaking it. "I just arrived and was hoping to get a job" I tell him.

"We are looking to hire someone, but there won't be any meetings today. Because of the funeral" he tells me.

"What happened?" I ask him.

"Fire at the old doctor office, Mayor was trapped inside" he states.

"Sounds horrible" I tell him.

"It was, I'm actually friends with the mayor's son" he states.

"Why are you here then?" I ask him confused.

"Just tiding up, I'm going to go change now actually and head over. You should come, a good place to meet people" he tells me.

"You sure? I don't want to intrude on a funeral" I tell him.

"It'll be fine" he assures me. "Wait here, I'll be ready in five" he tells me. I smile and wait as he goes to change. Once he was ready he drives us to a mansion.

"Wow" I say looking up at it.

"Yeah we have some nice houses here" he says chuckling. "Tyler, hey man" he says to man with black hair and dark brown eyes. There was something about Tyler that has my inner voice on edge. I can almost hear it growling at him.

"Matt, glad you could make it" Tyler says shaking his hand. "Who's this?" he asks.

"Imarina, she just got into town" Matt states.

"I hope it's ok that I'm here" I tell Tyler.

"It's fine, come on in" he says and we enter the house. "I have to continue greeting people, but we'll catch up later Matt" he tells him. Matt nods his head and leads me to the food table. "Hey guys" he says when we reach a couple. I look at the guy surprised, he was one of the guys from my dream.

'Found coven!' the voice cheers.

"Hey Matt. I heard that Caroline is doing much better. Her recovery was practically miraculous, you must be so relieved" the girls says.

"I am. Thanks Elena" he says smiling. "Anyway guys this is Imarina" he says and I wave. "Imarina, these are Stefan and Elena" he adds.

"Nice to meet you both" I say smiling.

"Pleasure is mine" Elena says smiling.

"Imarina, I'm gonna go mingle more. Will you be ok alone?" Matt asks me.

"Sure, I'll come by the Grill tomorrow about the job" I tell him. He nods his head and leaves. "It was nice to meet you both, but I'm gonna go find a bathroom" I tell the other two. I leave them and start to make my way through the crowd.

When I bump into s dark skinned girl. "I'm so sorry" I tell her and she looks at me with wide eyes.

"What are you?" she asks me and I frown.

"I don't know what you're talking about" I tell her feeling uneasy. Suddenly the second guy from my dream joins us.

"Bonnie, who's your new friend?" he asks.

"I didn't get her name Damon" she states and leaves.

"She doesn't seem to like you" I tell him.

"Kind of a common thing around town" he tells me shrugging. "You however, are new" he says smirking. "Damon Salvatore" he says kissing my hand.

"Imarina" I say taking my hand back. "I just arrived today, still need to find a place for the night" I tell him.

"Well I have plenty room at mine and my brother's house, you're welcome to stay until you find a place" he tells me.

"I don't know" I say unsure as the voice encourages me to take the offer.

"I think you'd really like it" he says looking into my eyes. I giggle shaking my head.

"Yeah, I think I'll just find a cheap apartment" I tell him. Just then Elena joins us and I frown in confusion, why is she wearing a different outfit.

"Hey, how are you doing?" she asks Damon.

"Great Elena. Walking on the sunshine, thanks for asking" he tells her. "Have you meet Imarina?" he asks.

"We meet earlier, you were wearing a different outfit though" I state. "Also your hair was curly" I add and they look at me surprised. "Is something wrong?" I ask them.

"No, nothing enjoy the funeral" Damon tells me. Before they both leave in a hurry. I frown, what was that all about. I find the loo and do my business before going back downstairs. Where I'm greeted by curly haired Elena.

"Hi, so are you and the other Elena twin sisters?" I ask her.

"She wishes" she says smirking. "She's just a doppelganger" she states. "My name is Katherine, I pretend to be Elena" she adds. "I have not seen one of your kind in many years" she states.

"My kind?" I ask her confused.

"You're brand new, how lovely" she says smiling. "Be sure not to get in my way kitty" she tells me. My voice growls, saying it's not a kitten. Katherine disappears and I frown in confusion. I go to leave when I bump into a man that smells like a wet dog and I let out a low snarl. Disliking him more then Tyler.

"Stay away from me mutt" the voice growls using my voice. He flashes his golden eyes at me, challenging her. "You're no match for me" she sneers.

"This is my family's territory, you're kind and vampire's aren't welcome" he tells me.

"You threaten the coven, you die" the voice says and I regain control of my vocal cords.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry about that. I don't know what came over me" I tell him. "Lets start over, I'm Imarina" I state.

"Mason Lockwood, you have out stayed your welcome cat" he tells me.

"Ok, I was leaving anyway" I tell him frowning. I leave the mansion and am greeted by Damon. "What do you want?" I ask him.

"Saw your fight with Mason, what was that about?" he asks me intrigued.

"Don't know, something about him makes me want to rip him to pieces" I state. Then cover my mouth. "Why did I say that?" I ask holding my head confused.

'Mutt is danger to coven, must be taken care of' the voice tells me.

Shut up I tell it.

"You ok?" Damon asks me.

"I don't know, I haven't been myself the past few days" I tell him.

"I'd be happy to help you figure things out" he tells me smiling.

"Why would you do that?" I ask him.

"I don't trust Mason, he clearly doesn't like you. So why not pair up?" he asks smirking.

"Ok, but I'm not killing him" I tell him.

"This way" he says and leads me to a mustang. I get in and he drives us to a huge boarding house. "Pick any room you want" he tells me and I go upstairs leaving him downstairs. I find a room with a nice view of the forest and choose it. I crawl into bed and fall asleep.
