"Steven!"

"Kid?" Sans and Papyrus asked as they made there way up the stairs.

"Are you alright?" Papyrus asked as Sans walked up behind him. Steven noticed that now Papyrus was wearing the red scarf instead of Sans.

"I-i'm fine you g-guys!" Steven said, but his gem powers betrayed him as his bubble surrounded him, the one with spikes. He sighed as he made the bubble disappear.

"Do you wish for us to tell the gems about the bubble?" Papyrus asked as Steven started getting out of his bed.

"No, they already know. But speaking of the gems, where are they?" Steven asked as he made his way to his closet.

"Oh, they said they had to go on a mission. I think it was called the capturing caverns. They said for us to watch you while they were gone." Sans said while thinking.

meanwhile....

The gems were stuck in crystal balls.

"Maybe we should've asked for there help." Pearl said, no regretting leaving behind any back up. Then a tiny crystal creature walked closer to Pearl's phone that some how was out of Pearl's gem. 

"Pearl, I think your getting a new number." Amethyst said, the creature held up the phone in aw. Pearl gasped and smoshed her face against the crystal.

"You will put that down immediately!" Pearl yelled, it just laughed.

Back at Beach City....

"Do tell Steven, how are you able to make the bubble?" Papyrus asked after Steven got changed and was now brushing his teeth.

"I have my mom's gem." Steven answered, he spat out the tooth paste.

"I thought gems didn't have mom's and that you were human?" Sans asked, scratching his skull in confusion.

"I'm half human and gem." He said as he started washing his face. "It's weird I know, i'm the first human gem hybrid." He said and rinse of his face. "Well, the first the gems know anyways." He said and looked up at the mirror and dried off his face. When he looked up, he saw Chara in the mirror. "AHHH!" He screamed and fell down, he looked at the mirror and saw she was gone.

"You okay Steven?!" Papyrus asked as he kicked open the door. Steven jumped up and stood still.

"YUP!" He yelled, then the ball of spikes appeared. He groaned and waved his hands in the air to make it disappear. "I'm just gonna go hang out on the beach, clear my head." Steven said, he saw Sans was in the fridge but he gave Steven a thumbs up. He sighed as he opened the door and walked out, only to find Connie outside. "What's Connie doing here?" He asked himself and made his way down to the beach.

"Hey Steven!" Connie said and walked up to him.

"What'ca doing here?" He asked her, she laughed a bit and pointed at her sword. "Oh, that's  right! I forgot we have practice today." Steven said, she smirked and pulled out her phone.

"I tried calling Pearl, but I just got voicemails." Connie said and held up her phone to show ten unread voicemails.

"Yeah, they went on a mission, it's just me and my-" He shut his mouth and thought this through. If Sans and Papyrus went underground because humans forced them to, then will Connie get upset? He thought, she gave him a confused look.

"Your what?" She asked.

"My uh, myself! But not anymore now that your here!" He said with sweat going down his face.

"Um okay, maybe we should get to the arena and practice while we wait for her." Connie said and started walking upstairs.

"Wait!" He yelled as he jumped infront of her. "Y-you can't!" He said, she started to get annoyed.

"Why?" She asked and put her hands on her hips.

"Um because, because..." He said, then he noticed his gem glowing bright orange. "NO WAIT GUYS!" He yelled, but Papyrus raised his hand and Steven raised with it into the sky.

"No need to worry Steven Universe! The great Papyrus and Sans shall protect you from this human!" Papyrus said, Connie was confused and was about to grab her sword but her body became bright blue.

"Nuh uh." Sans said as he left eye turned blue. He then flicked his fist and sent Connie to the ocean. But before she landed in it, she whistled for Lion. He made a portal and  caught Connie and stood on the water with bright glowing pink eyes. "Uh, okay." Sans said and made bones float by him, he threw them at Connie but Lion was fast enough and ran across the water.

"Put Steven down!" Connie yelled as she grabbed her sword and held onto Lion's mane. Lion jumped in the air and made a portal and disappeared into it. The two looked around and saw Connie above them with her sword above her head. She yelled her warrior cry as she was about to slam down her sword.

"CONNIE! Don't hurt them!" Steven yelled, Connie gasped and kicked off Steven's house. She landed in the sand, Steven sighed in relief, until he heard Chara laughing. He looked up and saw Chara falling with her knife face him. "AH!" He yelled and made a bubble around him. She landed on it and began stabbing the bubble. He began to cry as he back away from her as she continued.

"How can I get Steven without them hurt me and me hurting them?!" She yelled, Sans looked confused, Papyrus was distracted and lost his grip on the magic. Steven's bubble popped and he gain to fall while crying. Connie gasped as Lion got her on his back and jumped in the air. Connie grabbed Steven and they began to glow, showing that they were fusing.

"Brother, what is that human doing to Steven?!" Papyrus asked Sans, who was just as confused.

"I don't know bro!" Sans said and shot bones at it, they opened there eyes and shot pink shields to stop the bones.
