"I'm leaving. This apartment was once full of happiness. Now all that's left is the wall between us."
"I don't know what you mean! What do you mean you're leaving?"

There's a space in between.
Like a grey evergreen

"No matter what I do you're still stuck in this deep hole you've dug yourself. I think we should take a break..."
"I... I can fix this please give me one more chance..."
"No. I've given you one too many chances."
With that she left. And the room fell silent as if mourning the loss of love it had just witnessed. The buzz in the air conditioner fell to a halt, the sounds of traffic faded into the silence.
After many minutes of silently processing the information she received, she walked outside, not caring to lock the door.

On the pavement below

Looking down onto the floors below from the balcony, wondering what she did wrong. Alone with her thoughts, the worst way to be alone. The gentle ringing of silence in her ears became more apparent.
By now it was pounding on the inside of her head, begging to be let out.

I said I would never come back
Screaming at the walls in jet black
Hurt until my words are out flat
Can I whisper it back?

  "What's the point...?"
She looked back toward the door, the door the love of her life had walked out of just a mere 15 minutes ago. She walked back in. The aftermath of their fight still left there, not having moved an inch. The room felt so empty. She felt so empty. The tears welling in her eyes attempting to fall. She wouldn't let them, but... the loneliness, the absolutely suffocating loneliness.

"I'm not going back to her. She couldn't be there at my worst, she won't be there for my best,"
Over the next few months she got help. Taught herself to get up and be productive, took better care of herself, made herself better physically and mentally. And soon enough she found her lover again.

"I guess all you needed was time to yourself,"
"I guess so,"
"I'm proud of you!"
"Heh. Thanks,"
A gentle kiss on the lips was what she got in response. A happy moment, she was finally back, she was finally better.
