Percy and his friends were sat around a lunch table, being rowdy and a absolute nuisance to all the staff and surrounding students, as usual, when the doors were flung open.
A group of around 20 or so girls were stood in an arrow formation. They were clothed in silver parkas and had bows slung over their shoulders and a quiver-full of arrows. The girl at the front with spiky black hair and piercing blue eyes had an arrow notched on her string, pointing straight at Percy.
The cafeteria fell silent.
Percy saw everyone staring behind him in terror and turned around. And then before, anyone could cry out, the girl released the arrow.
It whistled through the air, and then... and then Percy caught it. CAUGHT it. A moving arrow, in his fist. Complete silence.
"Woah man!" One of the school 'Jocks' shouted. This began a torrent of questions. Percy ignored them all, and instead threw the arrow.
It sailed through the air and straight into the girls awaiting hand, who then slipped it into her quiver. She strode up to him and slapped him around the face.
"That was for being an idiot." She snarled. But there was a hint of Humor in there too. She slapped him again.
"That was for stealing my knife at the summer solstice." A smile was definitely beginning to show on her features. She slapped him once more.
"And that was because I wanted to slap you again." Percy grinned, and the girls face split into a mirroring expression.
And then they hugged.
"What the?!" Someone yelled.
Percy broke apart the hug and looked at the girl,
"You're the best cousin ever Thalia!"
"Don't let Nico or Jason hear that! They would kill you, raise you from the dead and then kill you again!" She warned,
"And don't think I've forgotten." She held out her and he groaned, before pulling out and passing her a knife he had in his pocket.
"Good." She said. "See you Jackson. Come on girls!" She left the cafeteria, leaving everyone staring at him like he'd gone mad.
And that was the day the Hunters came to Goode.
