Ida PoV:

We had finally managed to capture and eliminate the beast that had been roaming around for the past few weeks, and Lady Artemis had allowed us a little relaxation time. Of course, we had decided to have a campfire. There were only a handful of us, not many hunters travel with the Lady at once.

As the stars twinkled in the sky, one constellation stood out to me. The huntress. Poor Zoé.

The crackling of the fire was a pleasant soundtrack to the chattering of my friends, the soft golden glow of the flames lighting up the surroundings of the forest clearing. I walked over and settled onto a nearby log.

"Oh hey Ida!" Thalia grinned at me, her arm propped up against a tree trunk.

"Hello, how art thee?" I smile at her. I was still unfamiliar with the strange language of modern day, and had opted to continue with my current way of speaking.

"I'm great thanks! You?"

"I am perfectly well."

"Cool. Marshmallow?" Thalia waved her stick that had been lingering next to the dancing fire, showing off the perfectly browned marshmallow on the top.

"Of course! I thank you!"

She attempted to pull the marshmallow off the stick, but pulled a little too hard. The marshmallow flew right off and straight onto the face of Grace, our oldest recruit. She had, however, managed to master the new culture entirely (I may or may not be slightly envious).

Grace reaches up and scraped the gooey mess off her cheek.

"Really?" She raised an eyebrow, "You are going down Thalia!" Grace reached into the bag of marshmallows next to her, took a handful, and threw them. The marshmallows had a mind of their own, and managed to hit both me, Thalia and Marigold.

Marigold growled, "That's it."

"FOOD FIGHT!"

And all of a sudden, marshmallows, berries, bread, chocolate, anything edible that was on hand was flying through the air. Someone even got egg in their hair. I truly have no idea how someone had an egg!

I was throwing clumps of partially melted chocolate, as if it would save my life, Thalia dosing just the same next to us. The air filled with shrieks and laughter as we attempted to avoid becoming a walking feast.

A sudden loud SPLAT stopped us all in our tracks. I turned my head to see Lady Artemis with a face full of sticky raspberries.

Oh dear.

She blinked in shock and stood there for a moment. Then she walked over to a forgotten bowl of chips, on a table, too far away for any of us to have bothered with, and reached in, taking some of the slightly crushed treats, and turned to face us. A sinister smile spread over her face, and she threw them into the crowd of Hunters.

"It's on."

And chaos ensued once again. I am fairly sure that we scared off any wildlife in the near vicinity. It was worth it.
