Ch 1 KR Five-Two Down

I was being sent in some sort of cave system to pick up a squad. Call it lucky or not but but my cave is large enough that we can fit. Though in that cramped space you don't have much room for error. We made it to the location marked by a flare but a boom shot hit at our tail.

Y/N: This is KR Five-Two I'm hit...I'm hit-

The raven crashed down with its rotor blades propelling it forward. The gears rolled out of its way. After seconds the blades broke, making a complete stop. The dust stormed settled.

Sergeant: (coughs) Check for any survivors. The rest of you do delaying actions against the locust.

A gear grabbed me out of the crash and laid me on the raven. The sergeant walks to Y/N.

Sergeant: Can you walk soldier?

Y/N: I can't feel much sir. Wait...Did my, did my co-pilot survive. 

Sergeant: (Pulls our Hunter) He made it out in one piece. He just seems out for a bit.

Y/N: We had another gear on board.

Sergeant: (gives tag) I'm afraid not. I'm sorry for your loss

Y/N hanged his head down and simply looked at the cog tag. He did not get to know Anthony for long but the time they went well with them hitting it off as friends. A scout is seen running with the soldiers reacted with covering fire. He almost made it but got shot. A gear managed to drag him to the Sergeant. He looked like he did not have much time left but he still continued.

Scout: (breathes in) I'm afraid that the signal to the detonator is low. It will detonate only at here.

With those words said the scout succumbed to his injuries. The Sergeant merely grabbed out his tags muttering about how he did not die in vain. After the moment the Sergeant looked up and explaining the situation.

Sergeant: That means at least one of us won't make it, and if do not stop them from reaching city it will be a slaughter.

Y/N: This is our only chance so I will do this.

Sergeant: Are you sure about it. This is a one way stop you're doing here.

COG soldier: (from background) Sir! We can not hold them off any longer.

Sergeant: Deploy smoke grenades and plant down grenades to delay then! Make your way back here on the double! L/N will be the one blowing the charges.

Hunter woke up and heard what Y/N volunteer for. It was a death sentence but he was willing to stick by his brother's side.

Hunter: I'm staying too.

Y/N: No. You can make it out Hunter. I can't.

Hunter: Look I am not leaving without you. I am the older one which means I have to protect you and what then? Mom and dad are gone so you are the only family I have. Besides you still owe me five bucks.

The two laughed knowing that this will be the last time banter.

Y/N: (with a rejuvenated tone) Even in death you would still find a well. Okay well let's do it. My weapons should be in the back.

Hunter: (laughs) For a pilot you sure came prepared.

Y/N: Ehh. Remember I was once a soldier and don't say that when you brought your own well.

Hunter: Runs in the family.

Sergeant: (gives detonator)

The gears began to run a safe area with Hunter getting on the mulcher. The locust were at their position. Revving up the mulcher turret Hunter began firing into the horde. Y/N fired as well at any who tried to gun into Hunter's blind spots.
