He took a breath at the thought of the event and looked away from Eddie uncomfortably. "Yeah, I'm all good spaghetti. Why wouldn't I be?" Eddie sighed, knowing that Richie was hiding his true emotions. "Rich, talk to me... please?" Richie looked in Eddie's eyes and began to cry. Eddie leaned forward and hugged Richie. Richie knee he was safe with Eddie. He felt safe in his warm embrace. He melted into the hug and cried until he couldn't anymore. He sniffled. Eddie pushed Richie back gently by the shoulders to look at him in the eyes. Richie blushed and began thinking of what to do. "Hey, umm, Eddie, that's how your mom looked at me last night." Eddie's expression hardened. He grabbed the sides of Richie's face and leaned in a little bit, careful not to get too close. Richie gulped. "Stop with the mom jokes, trashmouth, they're getting old" Richie looked frightened "Yes Eds." "Don't call me that, Rich" Eddie said as he leaned in more and connected their lips. Richie was surprised, but he didn't pull away.

Eddie pulled away first because he felt Richie crying. Eddie began to worry. He asked, "What's wrong, Richie?" Eddie was cursing himself for making Richie cry and thinking "why did I think Richie liked me? I'm crazy! Richie Tozier is straight. What am I doing? I'm such an idiot", and the only answer Richie could give him is to laugh a little through his tears and then kiss him back. Eddie's eye got really wide and then he melted into the kiss, after realizing what Richie meant. Richie's answer gave Eddie a jolt of happiness. He smiled into the kiss. That was all Eddie needed. He knew Richie couldn't have said anything in that moment, he knew what Richie was thinking, he knew that Richie thought that he would say something stupid, something that would come out as a joke...

But he knew well enough.
