At Parker's
"H-h-hey Richie!" Bill said waving him over to their table.
"Hey Rich" Eddie said, blushing harshly.
"Hey guys! Eddie my love! How's ya been? I've missed you! Cute, cute, cute!" Richie said sitting down next to Eddie and placing a light kiss on his cheek. Eddie's eyes grew wide and he blushed a deep, deep red. Richie giggled.
The losers didn't think much of it, Richie was always messing with Eddie, trying to get some kind of reaction out of him. No big deal. But Stan.... he took note.
——flashback——
Richie sat down on Stan's bed, he felt weird. He never thought he would feel like this. He ESPECIALLY didn't think he would be telling anyone about it, but he had to talk to someone about his feelings. Stan's his best friend, he'll understand. Right?
"Richie, what is it? You could have texted me before you came." Stan said as he walked in the room, back to Richie, locking the door. When he turned around, he saw pure horror and fear in Richie's tear stained face. Sudden worry washed over him. Was his friend ok?
"Rich? What's going on? Are you ok?" Stan asked as he walked over to the bed and sat down calmly. He slowly raised his arms and allowed Richie to melt into a hug while he cried loudly, almost screamed. Richie never cried... especially in front of people. Stan looked at his friend in full understanding and Richie looked up at him. "Stan? I'm scared." Richie said with a deep heavy breath, sounding almost forced. "You can talk to me, Rich." A single tear ran down Richie's face and Stan reached out to him with his pointer finger and wiped it. Richie nuzzled back into Stan's chest, Stan sitting crisscrossed on the bed. "I don't like this feeling. What if people find out? What am I going to do if Henry finds out? He'll kill me! What will our friends say?" Richie let out a shaky breath into Stan's tear drenched shirt. Stan sat in silence trying to figure out what Richie has meant by "this feeling". It hit him. Hard. "Richie? When did you find out?" Richie looked up, seeing Stan with a gentle, understanding, small and supportive grin on his face. He continued to cling to Stan's waist. "I-I- don't know? It feels so new, but it feels like I've always known. You know?" "That's how you know it's real. When you feel like nothing's changed," Stan ran his hand through Richie's hair comfortingly. "I'm here for you, Rich." "Thanks, Stan the man." Richie said shaking. He had stayed with Stan that night watching movies and talking about life. Stan has held him all night. Never letting go of his best friend. He never would.
——end of flashback——
Richie smiled thinking back on that night. It was a great night. Stan was there for him. He would be happy for Richie. He was still scared but he knew, he knew his friends had his back. He knew they loved him. He knew.
They loved him....
He knew....
