When I wake up you are giggling in the next room. As soon as both you and Krimson see me, both of you smile. She reaches out for me, and you let me take her from you. She instantly coos and giggles as I rock her.
"Shes so beautiful... I can't believe..."
A knock at our door interrupts you. I frown and nod. You open the door, and a frail old woman stands there.
"Hello Dragonborn... and Elder Blood. I need your help... please."
You scowl but let the woman in. We all sit around the fire, and she explains.
"My husband... when he died, he left me this."
She pulls out a necklace. Embedded in it is a giant red jewel. I gasp upon seeing it.
"Thats... the... "
She interrupts.
"Yes... the Dragonblood amulet. He held onto this artifact. Said when he died to give it to the Dragonborn... and that they would need to go to his grave and light the new dragon fires. Otherwise..."
I interrupt.
"Mehrunes Dagon cannot come back.... I know of the legend."
She looks upset. You take Krimson from me and cradle her. We both look at each other and then our baby. I speak.
"Listen... what proof do you have that he will try and come back. After Martin turned into a dragon and drove him back, it would be suicide to attempt that again. Akatosh is now always watching."
Her frown deepens.
"Because... you have his razor. And I can feel his influence pulsing around the world. Soon... gates will open... and only she can stop this."
She hands me a map with the location of the grave, then leaves. The amulet sitting where she was. I look to you and you have the deepest frown.
"I... want to help... but..."
I pull both of you close. gently playing with our baby.
"We can do this.... I can protect her... you can light the fires... it'll be finished... okay?"
You nod.
"P...p... promise... D... Daddy...?"
My head flashes up to you and I see the tears in your beautiful grey eyes. I smile and kiss you lightly.
"I won't let any harm come to either of you. I promise Princess."
You nuzzle into me, and I hear a snore. We both smile as Krimson fell asleep. We take her to her crib and tuck her in gently. I fill a couple of glass balls with light green magic, and we go to our room.
