I wait for you to go to bed before I pull the note from the door.
I overreacted. I attacked you because I was angry. And then I pulled OUR child away from you. In my anger I couldnt see how painfull that was for you. She did say momma... and then... she looked around and hasn't stopped whining... saying dada... please come home... I'm so sorry.. we need you.
I sigh. After reading the note I wait till morning. Sitting at the table with the note. I hear you wake up. You sigh and find your way to the table where breakfast is set out. You sit down still having not seen me. Krimson finishing feeding and looking around squeels.
"Dada dada!!!"
You start to cry and try to wrangle her as she wiggles out of your arms. When I catch her from falling your eyes shoot open and you cover your mouth. Tears falling down your face.
"Y...yo..."
I smile and kiss you lightly.
"I never left... always in the shadows."
You just sob and cry in my shoulder. I hold you close for a while until you pull back and grunt.
"Ok... ok... we need to finish things and raise Krimson..."
I nod and pet the now sleeping baby.
"Go on... I'll follow behind and keep her safe. After all... you have to be the one to do it."
We grab our gear. As you walk out the door you see me with a special shield. When I hold it up a golden ward appears around us bubbling us in protection. You smile widely and nod.
It took almost a month of travel but we made it to the grave of the dragons. There were a couple of bandits on the way there but you dispatched them easily with your sword and shouts. I hand you Krimson and start making camp just a short way away from the grave.
"Love... I have dinner ready. Eat I'll watch over you two tonight."
You greedily tear into the meal I cooked. Even if it was just a simple roast deer you smiled like it was made by the gourmet. When you had finished I took Krimson and held her as she sleeped.
"This is.... awwwwnnnn.... it right? Then.... home...."
I sigh and pet you as you fall asleep. As soon as morning comes. I wake you and hand you breakfast. You sleepily eat and once you've fed Krimson, we set into the grave.
