~Julia's POV~
I hate this. I hate feeling vulnerable. I hate crying in front of people. But at the same time, I'm hugging the guy I like, so its a win some, lose some situation.
I just told him something that I've never told anyone. Not even my parents or my brother. My only and worst secret. I felt weak. I felt like an open book. But at the same time, I felt loved.
I continued to cry while he rubbed soothing circle on my back, whispering comforting words in my ear. I tried to stop many times within the ten minutes of full on sobbing but failed. I tried once more with a shuddered breath and they slowed down to the occasional fall here and there. But even when I fully stopped, Liam's hold on me never faltered. I felt safe now, no longer vulnerable. I wanted to stay like this forever.
"I'm okay... Thanks," I said, trying to smile. He returnedy it, but I could see his eyes were slightly red. He wasn't crying, but I knew that he cared about me much more than I thought.
"Okay." he breathed, his voice low. "I need to tell you something..." He trailed off, his voice slightly unsettling.
"Okay, shoot." I said, my voice still thick.
"I think I-"
"JULIA!!!" My mom called, cutting him off. He looked disappointed, but he quickly let go of me and wiped the last tears that fell with his thumb.
"We have to go! You need to get changed for swim!" She yelled.
I looked at the time and sure enough, it was 4:47.
"I guess I'll see you tomorrow morning?" He asked, a small smile on his lips.
"Yeah..." I smiled back.
He turned and started towards the door.
"And Liam?" And asked.
He turned around his eyes sparkling.
"Yeah Jules?" I smiled at the nickname he had given me while jumping up from the corner of my bed and into his arms.
"Thank you." I whispered, tightening my hold around his neck.
He just put his arms around me and hugged me back, our heads resting on each other's shoulders, with myself being on my toes.
You don't know how much I hated my swim team right now.
~Liam's POV~
I hugged her tight and reluctantly let go when her mother called for her again. I was going to tell her how I felt but I thought it wasn't the right time anyway.
She looked like she had a huge weight lifted off her shoulders.
"I'll walk you out," she said with a smile, her eyes no longer red and now a bright blue. I returned the smile and opened the door.
"I guess we'll have to finish the project another time then?" I asked.
She grinned,"yeah... I'd like that."
And with that we walked to the front door together, one of my hands carrying my book bag and the other still holding hers. I never let go of it the entire time, except the first time her mom called for her.
"Bye," I said with my smile wide.
"See ya," she said, flashing her perfect smile.
And with that I let go of her hand, turned and walked out turning right before I was out of sight to give a small wave, that she over-enthusiastically returned. I laughed at her being the silly girl I know and lo-
