*Cloud POV*

I saw Sephiroth's sword stabbed through Lightning's chest.  She screamed in pain, so I yelled, "LIGHTNING!!!!"  Then I saw Lightning fall silent.  "Sephiroth," I said.  "If Lightning's dead..."  I then grabbed the hilt of my original buster sword that Zack had given me.  "I'LL KILL YOU FOR GOOD!!!!!"
When I charged at him, I felt stupid.  Instead of getting this busted up sword, I should've came here.  And this was the first time I fought with hatred.  All the other times I fought Sephiroth, it was with faith.  But this time, it was hatred.  Not for Sephiroth.  It was for myself.
'FLASHBACK'
Finally, I came to a stop.  It was at the top of the hill that gave you a view of the destroyed Shinra.  There, at that hill, there was the buster sword.  Zack had given it to me when he passed away.  It was proof that I was living for the both of us.
I wrapped my hand around its hilt.  It was hard to recall the last time I used it.  When I had used it, I covered it in bandages to keep it from falling apart.  But those wrappings were ripped off so its rust and cracks would show.  I pulled it out of the ground and wrapped more bandages around it.
Right then, I put the sword on my back.  "Time to save Lightning," I told myself, then hopped on the bike.  I started it up, and it roared to life.  "I can't fail.  I won't fail."
'END OF FLASHBACK'
So that was that.  I went to get a sword and Lightning died a painful death.  This anger and hatred drove me to the edge.  The buster sword went left, right, up, down, and in all directions.  My time had come to get rid of this punk.  It was him who killed Lightning, and it was my fault I wasn't there to stop it.  After I kill him, I'll get Lightning home.
Finally, I brought my buster sword down, and a diagonal line slashed on Sephiroth.  I had ended his life.  He was going to die, and I was going to send his darkness away.  As he disappeared, his last words were, "Cloud.  You cannot seal darkness away.  I will be back."
After he had completely disappeared, I sprinted to Lightning.  She was lying there, her eyes closed.  Losing her wasn't an option, so I shook her, trying to wake her.  But Lightning didn't budge.  Why wasn't she waking up?  She can't be... dead, can she?

*Lightning POV*
I awoke on the ground.  When I pushed myself up, I wasn't in the flowers.  And I was still in a dream.  Then I looked around the new dream.  Rain was pouring down, and it was a set of platforms.  "Serah!" I shouted through my cupped hands.  "Are you there?"
Then I heard the presence of someone behind me.  When I turned around, it wasn't Serah.  It was a different me.  She was wearing the clothes I had been wearing before I magically shifted into these.  Also, she held the strange sword from earlier.
Then the other Lightning pointed her sword in my direction.  "What will I accomplish from this?" I sighed, then unsheathed my sword.  She readied herself, then charged.  I flipped up and used her head to support the flip.  Light (as I am now calling her) came charging again.  This time, I waved my sword at her.  It missed by an inch and scratched her face.
"What's up with her?" I said aloud, then a small girl came walking up beside Light.  She looked like Serah, but sore a black shirt and skirt.  My guess was this is some kind of alternate Serah.  "By defeating this memory, you'll gain that memory," the girl said.  I gave her a confused look, and she sighed.
"This is a memory," she said, pointing at Light.  "This was once you.  A solider toy for the Guardian Corps.  If you defeat this younger you, it'll give you all of the memories from that time."  Well, now that it was explained, it makes more sense.
I sighed again, then pointedly sword at Light.  "Kid, you better move so I can finish this," I eagerly warned.  The girl chuckled, then said, "The name is Lumina."  She disappeared into thin air, and Light charged.  "If I was really this recipe seat one time," I said, looking up, "then this'll be easy!"

*Cloud POV*
I held Lightning in my arms.  Her breathing was scarce, and her body temperature had lowered.  "Lightning," I whispered.  She coughed, and I gripped tighter.  The strange clothing she was wearing disappeared, and she now wore the clothes from before.  Also, the sword turned back to normal.
Then I see it.  Lightning's eyes started to crack open, and she looked around.  "What... what happened?"  She asked.  I hugged her up into my chest, but she pushed away.  "I... remember now.  There was Snow and Serah and Fang and Vanille and Hope and..."  Before she could continue listing names, I stopped her.
"What are you talking about?" I wondered aloud.  "I regained some of my memories," she said.  "Let's go back to Tifa's place and I'll explain.
~
When we arrived at Tifa's bar, she was serving people with the help of Denzel and Marlene.  Denzel saw me, shouted at Marlene, then they charged at me.  Both the children tackled me, and I laughed like a fool.  "Cloud, you're back!" Denzel yelled excitedly.  Marlene cried a little, then Tifa said, "You came back in one piece.  That's good."  It felt good to be back home.

*Lightning POV*
Two children tackled Cloud and shouted, then people looked our way.  When I looked over at my arm, the 'geostigma' was gone.  Then I heard the voice of a child girl say, "Cloud, who is she?"  I looked down to see a little girl wearing a dress and her hair was in a ponytail with a red ribbon.  There was also a little boy wearing shorts and a shirt with curly brown hair.  "This your family?" I asked, looking up at Cloud.
"I guess you could say that," Cloud shrugged.  "Denzel and Marlene, Lightning.  Lightning, Denzel and Marlene."  I held my hand out to shake, but the two of them hugged me.  Now this was just embarrassing.  A grown woman like me being hugged by children I just met.
Even though I had just met these children, they seemed nice.  I smiled, and the children pulled me up the stairs.  They showed me around their house and played games with me.  Finally, when the day was over, I took a walk alone.  The warmth of the summer kept me nice and toasty, so I didn't need Cloud's arm cover anymore.
Then I headed the noise of footsteps behind me.  I pulled out my Blazefire Saber (I found out the name after defeating 'Light') and pointed it at the stranger.  It turned out to he 4K, that monster hunter from before.  "Hello, Lightning," he chuckled.  For some reason, he seemed more suspicious than before.
"I was reading a book in my father's study and read about something called l'cie.  Any idea what it is?" He asked, rubbing his fingers across my neck.  I swatted them away, then looked at his eyes.  "Maybe I do, but it doesn't concern you," I shot back.  4K laughed, then grabbed my wrist.  "But it is.  I wish to kill these monsters for my list."
"Lightning, you opened that portal," he told me.  I thought he was talking about the one that opened during the firework show.  "Open it again, my dear Lightning.  Take me to the home of the l'cie."

A/N: 4K is a bad guy!  Suprising, no?  4K is actually a character based off my brother.  They really fit into synch.  Tell me your opnions!  Please point out any mistakes I had made!
