Princess Tales

"Adiana promise me, you will find your true love", Nanny's voice kept echoing in her mind all morning. Adiana was deeply upset now. Everymorning she woke up to the same dream, nanny reading her a fairy tale, tucking her in the bed and when she was about to sleep nanny would ask her to find her true love. She knew this was more of a memory than a dream. At that time she would promise nanny she would, although she never said it loud.It was a promise she wanted to keep. She was just not able to understand why this was recurring and why did it upset her.Adiana wondered if it was just wedding blues, she was engaged to Mark and was a month away from her dream wedding.

Adiana lost her parents in a car accident when she was just five. Her granny Martha Rodigs took her in. She was nothing like an old granny, infact she was just 40 when Adiana came to her. She had adopted Adiana's mother after her husband abandoned her.She never married again. She worked at a local pharmacy and volunteered at various support groups in her free time.Martha wasn't a very wealthy woman but she took good care of Adiana. She supported Adiana's education and basic needs.

Martha taught her to believe in herself, she made her the confident, responsible and mature woman that she was but Martha also taught her to believe in magic, instilled in her the spirit of adventure, read and dwell in romance and convinced her that she was special. When Martha died due to breast cancer the magic in Adiana died too.Life became harsh but she survived her broken heart. She completed her education with the help of her scholarship and two jobs. Today she was a successful executive at a advertising company.

She met Mark at the same firm they were colleagues and shared an amazing chemistry at work. He was easy on the eyes and his ideas always synced up great with hers. After two years of being on the same team, one day he asked her out. Adiana never dated in her life, never had any space or time for a boy friend but she gave Mark a chance. She enjoyed his company but she had realised this very early that there were no sparks between them. When he kissed her she didn't feel butterflies in her stomach, her eyes never sparkled when he took her to special dates and she never felt jealous of other girls around him. Their relationship was easy and she wondered if it was a good or bad thing.

Am I seriously second guessing here or is it just the "cold feet", she was pacing back and forth in her kitchen with her fifth coffee this morning. Two weeks had gone by and she couldn't get the dream out of her mind, it had more or less become a nightmare. Wedding preparations were in full swing. She was always occupied, sometimes it was food tasting, other times it was the guestlist, her dress and other stuff.Rhianna her best friend was the maid of honor and she was also working very hard.Rhianna had crashed at her apartment a week before because the travel to her apartment everytime Adiana called was very tiring. Rhee as Adiana called her, left her this morning alone to catch up with the other bridesmaid. When silence filled her room Adiana panicked, she tried music and tv but nothing prevented the doubts from entering her mind. She had not said anything to Rhee about the dream.
