Luke couldn't sleep at all that night. He kept tossing and turning and eventually just gave up and went into the living room to watch tv.

He was worried about the information that he was going to get tomorrow. He didn't want tot hear that she only had so many day, months, or years she had left. He didn't want to know that. He wanted to know if she was going to be okay.

And when he heard her walking out from his room, he was quick to call her over to sit next to him. She still wasn't talking and he just wanted to hear her say anything.
"How was your sleep baby?" He asked as he moved her so she was now snuggling into Luke's chest. She didn't responded so Luke continued talking. "We have to go to the doctors again tomorrow, they need to find a way to help you." He took a deep breath trying to control his emotions. "You're just a bit sick is all." he said with a shaky voice. "You'll be okay though, I promise." he tried to convince himself rather than Cobain.

"What's wrong daddy?" Cobain finally asked. Luke's head snapped down to look at her and saw that she was already looking up at him. "You have something wrong with your lungs, but I promise, the doctors will fix it, and you'll be A-Okay." he told her.

Cobain reached up and wiped a tear from Her dad's face. "Daddy's don't cry." she told him with a small tone. "Sometimes honey, daddy's need to cry." he told her as he readjusted Cobain so she was now sitting on his lap, looking at him.
"I'm I going to go away like mommy did?" Cobain asked after awhile of silence. "No baby, no, no, no. Of course not. The doctors will give you some medicine and you'll be okay in no time." Luke said. Cobain just nodded and gave Luke a big smile. "Dada, can we go into mummy's room today?" Luke was taken aback by the question. She hadn't made any sign of wanting to go any where that room until just now. "Yeah, Sweetie, if you want to."

She jumped up and started running towards the door, "come on dad I'm going to beat you." She yelled. "Calm down Cobain, don't hurt yourself."

Together Luke stood holding Cobain as she reached down to get ahold of the door knob and as she turned it Luke turned away. "I don't know if I want to go in there yet." He said to Cobain who waited patiently for Luke to regain himself. "It's going to be okay daddy"

Finally, Luke allowed Cobain to open the door, and what he saw, wasn't what he expected.
