Hi there!

Thank you for stumbling across my story, hopefully you will enjoy it. Your feedback is highly appreciated!

English isn't my first language, so there might be a few mistakes (feel free to comment them), I do tent to be a little in a hurry as I write. ;)

This is a romance novel, so yes - there will be some cliche parts in it. But my intent is to make something a little bit different and not so predictable. I haven't read anything of this kind, but there might be something similar out there - I haven't read everything even though I read a lot.

I would love your support with votes and comments and please do share the story if you like it.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Have a good read!

I take the first bag out from the back of the car, pulling the straps over my shoulder as I look up at the building. The white house looks like any other building, white and massive, but will house as my home for the next year. The heat is making my forehead moisten as I am standing in the direct sunlight. The California sun is really warm this september day. I take a deep breath and turn to the red car coming to a stop just behind my car. My mother steps out of the passenger seat with a big smile on her face. I know she's putting on a brave face for this next step in our lives. I know my mother better than she knows herself, at least I can read her every expression.

"Are you ready?" She asks as she too pulls a bag from the compartment of their car, my dad takes another bigger one.

"Yes." I say, locking my car before starting to walk towards the building with my parents in tow.

I open the massive entry door to the building and we walk inside and take the stairs up to the second floor before finding the right room. I use the key I have in my hand and open the door to a rather small room with two beds, two desks and two chest of drawers. There is a small closet beside the door. The walls are white and the floor a grey carpet but the big window gives it good lighting. One of the beds already has sheets on them and the desk adjacent has a stack of books on them, which makes me think my roommate has already moved in.

"I guess this is my bed." I say as i put one of the bags on the bed and the other on the floor.

"It's not too bad." My dad says as he puts the suitcases on the floor next to the desk. I guess it's not. It's not cosy, but then again, it is collage. Who expects it to be?

"It will do great." I say and turn towards my parents. It feels strange that I wont be living with them anymore, but it was one of my conditions for moving here. I had lived at home last year when I had started collage. But since we needed to move here, I wanted to have the full experience of living in a dorm. Besides it will be a little nice to not have their eyes on me everyday.

"This is all of your stuff right?" My mom ask looking to the bags on the floor.

"Yeah, I have my backpack in the car. But I'll get that when I move my car." I say and turn towards them.

"Alright, I guess this is it then." she says, her voice low. We all walk out of the room to our waiting cars. Since we were bringing my bags we had parked them outside on the curb and it's only allowed to have them there temporary.

"So, call us anytime you want. We'll always be just a phone call away." My mom says as she come closer for a hug. They have rented a house about forty minutes from campus, so it's not like we wont see each other.
