Friends.... OR MORE???!!! (Part 2)

Grian's POV

Mumbo squeezed my hand as we saw where we were. Cub and Scar were knocked out, but not for long. We had to leave as soon as possible.

"Mumbo Cub and Scar should wake up any minute now. We should go."
I said.

Mumbo didn't budge. I could see from his face that he was scarred. (Lol no pun intended.) He sunk to the ground and started to cry.

"Mumbo" I sat at his side and comforted him. I stroked my hand through his soft brown
hair, and thought about how much he meant to me.

Suddenly, we heard footsteps from behind.

"Well well well." the cold voice of Scar made me shiver.

"Look what we have here" said Cub.

They snickered. I turned around in anger. "What do you want from us?!" I screamed.

"Mumbo here has a debt to pay." Scar said coldly.

"Mumbo what is he talking about?" I whispered.

Mumbo got up from the ground. "I have no idea what you are talking about." The way Mumbo sounded made me feel cold. He was such a sweet person, what could be so bad that Scar and Cub attempted to kill him?

"Mumbo, may I have a word?" Cub said.

Mumbo looked at me. I nodded. "Just stay in my sight."

Mumbo's POV

I walked about ten yards away from Grian and Scar with the Concorp owner.

"What do you want?" I said through gritted teeth.

"You are Grian's best friend, correct?" I nodded. "You spend too much time with him for my taste."

"What do you mean? It's not like he's your property." I say, confused.

"You see, it's been a while since Stress broke up with men and I've been feeling a bit lonely." he answered. (Yes, fuck it, I'm fully accepting this typo as stress likes women.)

"So?"

"So I caught an interest with Grian. And you are the only thing standing between me and Grian."

I bunched up my fists, and my face went red. Grian noticed this and started to walk closer, but I was focused on Cub, and didn't see him.

"You know what," I said. "Its a good thing that I'm standing between you two. Because I love Grian, and that will never change!"

Cub took a step back. Then he directed his eyes towards Grian, and then back at me.

I turned around, finally noticing Grian. He was stunned. "Grian..."

He turned around and ran away. I tried to run after him, but Cub grabbed my arm and put a knife at my throat. "Go after him, and die."

I waited for a few seconds to tell Cub that I wouldn't move, and then elbowed him in the stomach, and ran as fast as I could.

Scar tried to stop me, but I quickly equipped my elytra and flew off. I looked back at Cub yelling at me, cursing.

Grian's POV

I ran back to my base. I didn't know what to think. Mumbo liked me back? I never knew he thought of me as more than a friend. Then again, I guess he never knew I liked him either.

I knew Mumbo would come looking for me at my base, so I hid in my infinity room, and crouched down so he wouldn't see my nametag.

I heard someone land in my base, breathing heavily. I wondered what Cub and Scar had done to Mumbo after I left. Ugh I shouldn't have left them alone!

I see Mumbo's name tag approach me slowly. There is no way he can see me unless he knows where the entrance is, which I changed.

Then I get a message on discord. I open it and read what it says.

"I see you"

I froze. I look down and see that my finger slipped off of the shift key, and I am no longer crouching.

Mumbo's nametag is now directly above me. I quickly log in to my cam account in spectator mode and watch Mumbo as he takes out his pickaxe and digs down.

Mumbo's POV

I stare at the smaller man. He is crouched in the corner of the endless room (I know it's impossible).

"Gri..." I said, breaking the silence.

He didn't respond. I started to walk over to Grian, but he stood up and ran into my arms.

I hugged him tight. I heard him whisper "I love you too, you spoon."
