-Adam's PoV-

Adam walked into the restaurant, his right arm linked with Beetlejuice's left. They walked up to the front counter and Lawrence smiled at the waiter, a sharp faced kid with black hair, about their age.

"Jason," He said and the two high fived, "hey, I want you to meet Adam Maitland, my date."

"An actual date huh? He must really be something special then." Jason said, winking at Adam. "Anyway, I'm Jason Dean, but I prefer JD. I've been friends with this idiot for... How long has it been?"

"Fifth grade Dean, since fifth grade." Beetlejuice glanced over at Adam, "he works here so we get special discounts. They have the best food in town." Adam was still shaken because of the movie but he managed a small smile.

"You two get the special couples booth," JD said and lead them down a hall and to an unoccupied room with a candle lit table. Adam's blush intensified.

They took their seats and JD handed them their menus. He pulled out a small notebook, "what are we thinking drink wise?"

Adam looked at Beetlejuice waiting for him to order but the boy was staring straight back at him. "Um, w-water is fine for me." Adam said quietly and Jason scrawled it down.

"Same for me, now give me and Adam some time alone please," BJ said and JD silently walked out of the room. As soon as he left, Beetlejuice said, "I want to kiss you."

Adam blinked, he could ask why or tell him not to but he couldn't, not with those intense eyes staring into his. "Then w-w-why don't you?' He asked quietly.

"Because I am respecting your wishes."

"A-and if I said my w-wishes changed?"

"Have they?"

"Maybe..."

"I need a solid answer Maitland."

"Um... Yes-" Beetlejuice linked their hands and pulled him up onto his feet and against his chest, pressing their lips together. Adam closed his eyes and let his arms wrap around the boy's neck. Screw Barbara, screw being the shy boy, screw the rules, screw not being a boy toy, screw getting to know him more, and screw thinking about it.

Adam wanted Beetlejuice in that moment. His hands twined in his hair, he didn't really know how to kiss so he just followed Beetlejuice's lead. The older boy had his arms around his waist now and was still pulling him closer. Adam pushed him away when he heard footsteps and stumbled backwards.

"Adam," Beetlejuice panted, "what's wrong?"

"Someone- someone's c-coming." He said and collapsed into his seat, Beetlejuice sitting down as if nothing happened. Well almost, his hair was a mess... More than usual. "You-  your hair," he breathed.

Beetlejuice chuckled and ran a hand over his hair, smoothing it out just as JD came in, "ready to order?"

"No, we'll need a bit more time Jason," Lawrence said calmly and the teen nodded.

"No problem, I'll be back soon." He said and left. Adam waited for another kiss but Beetlejuice just stared at him, a smile on his lips.

"Um..." Adam tried, "You a-are- I m-mean you- I-I-"

"Adam," the other boy interrupted, "tell me about yourself."

"H-huh?" He blinked.

"Tell me more about you."

"What- what do you want to know?"

"Everything. If it makes it easier, start like we haven't ever met before."

"O-okay... um, I'm Adam Maitland, I uh, like reading and collecting things and restoring old furntiture. I um..."

"Would it be easier if I asked you questions?" Beetlejuice asked and Adam gave a shallow nod. "What do you mean by restoring old furniture?"

Adam gave a small, shy smile. "Oh, you don't want to know about that, it's boring-"

"Anything you do, Adam Maitland, is not boring, it's sexy."

"Restoring old furntiture is sexy?" He laughed.

"Can I be the old furtiture?" Beetlejuice raised his brows and Adam swallowed blushing.

"A-anyway, do you really want to know about it?" He asked and the taller boy nodded once, "wait really?"

"Yes Adam, I really want to know now."

"Well, restoring or fixing old furntiture is an art, you have to be cautious not to add too much new stuff but also not to keep it so old that it will break. For example, I'm fixing a crib for someone at the moment, they want it to remain as old as possible but also do not want it to have any chance of breaking. The crib is made out of walnut wood, an antique wood that we hardly ever use anymore. It is strong but finding some that is that old that won't break is not easy and very expensive. So I am using a combination of walnut and pine to make some of the missing legs. Also I am adding an old glossy finish to help stabilize everything. After I finish this crib I will start fixing an old- I am ranting again, aren't I?" Adam said, flushing red.

"Yes, but I don't mind. It's interesting."

"You don't think it's boring?" Adam asked, eyes shining.

"As I said, anything you do is not boring."

"But... you actually think it's interesting? L-like did you actually listen?"

"You're fixing an old crib and mixing walnut and pine wood," Beetlejuice said with a shrug, "it's not something I want to spend my time doing but I like hearing about what you're doing."

"Really?"

"Yes Adam, now tell me about what you're fixing next."

"You really want to know?"

"Yeah, now spill."

"Okay! Well after I finish the crib..."
