Subject Zero

Chpt. 6

     Newt's P.O.V.

   It's been a week since Minho came to the Blade, he was a runner because he could run really fast. He recently started to hang out with Y/N more and more each day. I got really jealous so I decided to confront her. I waited until she was alone and I went up to her.

"Hey Y/N. Can I talk to you for a few minutes?" I asked.

"Sure." She said happily. We walked to the watch tower and climbed up so we could be alone, it was really early in the morning so the doors weren't opening for 2 more hours.

"So what did you need to talk about?"

"I've noticed you and Minho spending time together...care to explain why?"

"Newt you don't have to be jealous or mad. We're just friends, and besides he's a runner."

"I know he his, but it's just your spending too much time with him and not me."

"Well it's not my fault that me and Minho were assigned as partners and you and Ben as partners. And it's also not my fault that I'm first in command where I have to take care of everything and everyone!"

"I know that! But that doesn't mean you can't spend time with me anymore!"

"Oh so you think I'm cheating on you with him."

"I don't know, but it does seem like it."

"Wow, I didn't expect my own boyfriend to think I was cheating on him. Wow Newt, just wow."

    And with that, she left the and climbed down. I was mad at her, yeah I get that it's not her fault we all voted for her to be leader but it is her fault that she hasn't spent much time with me and much of her time with her.

      Two hours later...

     Y/N and Minho were getting ready to run into the maze, Alby was talking to them, It was Ben's and I's day off. They were getting ready to start running when she looked back at me for a second with a tear in her eye before running inside the maze. Now I'm doubting getting mad at her, I have this awful feeling in my stomach that this was the last time I would see her.

       Right when they were coming back to the Blade...

        Minho's P.O.V.

   Myself and Y/N were just coming back from our run a little later than usual but the doors weren't closing for another hour. We were running but then we heard screeching noises coming from behind us. Then low growls. We slowly looked behind us and we saw a creature. I don't think Y/N even knows what that is with what I'm gathering from her facial expressions.

    We slowly started to walk backwards but then we both stepped on some ivy. Once we did, the creature looked at us, screeched and started charging towards us. We started to bolt the way back to the Blade, but I realised one of us couldn't make it back to the Blade alive. I knew I had to do it because I knew Newt would kill me if we both make it put alive. Either way I'll be dead. We were near the entrance of the Blade, it was about to close. The creature was near us, I saw Newt trying to fight off Frypan and Gally while the other Bladers screaming for us to go faster. I was ready to push Y/N but she did pushed me first. When she did, the doors closed and we heard a ear-piercing scream from just outside the door. Newt finally got out of the grip of Frypan and Gally and he started banging on the stone walls. Screaming, sobbing loudly, trying to open the door, and saying it was his fault.

"NOO!!!! IT'S MY FAULT!!!" He screamed as he sobbed.

   Even though all of us except for Newt were stone-faced, we were all sad, mourning, guilty and many more. I even saw Gally shed a single tear. We were all sad about Y/N's death but I've known her long enough that she would want us to carry on. Stay strong and find our way out of this hell hole.

"What was that Minho?" Alby asked, you could hear sadness in his voice. I thought for a few moments before I spoke.

"A griever..." I said looking at Newt.

     Wow okay that was okay I suppose I'm not really good at this story writing at all soo....
