Chpt. 7

3 years later to when they were planning to escape...

Newt's P.O.V.

It's been 3 years since Y/N died. She still haunts my dreams, every night and day I see her. Ever since she died everything changed. Minho became so obsessed with finding a way out of this place, Alby became first in command; he became ruder then ever, Gally became ruder too but also just plain on mean, Frypan's dishes were a little bit worse than before because Y/N would always check on it to see if it needed more of a certain ingredient.

We changed a lot of the names like the Blade. We call it the Glade now and we're called the Gladers. The supply run is the box, and we kinda changed the name of the new arrivals. We call them Greenies, still kinda the same as Green bean just a little different. We also decided we should have rules, 1. Do your part, 2. Never harm another Glader and 3. Never go into the maze, only the runners are allowed.

But after a Greenie named Thomas showed up everything jut became 10 times worse. The first day he arrived he tried to run away but then he face planted onto the ground, the second day Ben attacked him because he was stung by the griever, he ran into the maze to save Alby and Minho, then a girl shows up who knows Thomas, on third day he ran into the maze and found a possible way out, the same day the doors wouldn't close and three other doors opened. He stung himself and also got himself and the Greenie girl Teresa in the slammer and here we are. Awaiting for Thomas to wake up. As we were waiting I dozed off and thought to myself, 'Y/N would be proud of us, knowing we had found a way out and that we'll be able to get out of here.' I smiled and was then interrupted by Chuck semi-yell at Thomas.

"What the hell were you thinking?"

Then he explained how himself and Teresa were working with the people who put us here in this maze, who made the grievers who killed Y/N. Honestly, I wasn't mad at them, I was made at the people who did this to us. But then he said something that caught my attention.

"But I remember a girl saying her name over and over again...her name was Y/N and she had just came from one of the mazes." He said. Myself and Minho looked at each other and smiled. A tear fell from my face. Then I looked back at Thomas and asked.

"What did she look like? And what did they do to her?" I asked getting closer.

"They gave her griever serum, and then sent her into another maze. I think maze Zero with 9 more people. They were all boys...I think." He said unsure of himself. I looked at Minho and he looked at me and smiled. Like a genuine smile. We haven't had a genuine smile on our faces ever since the disappearance of Y/N.

"She's alive Minho...she's alive." I said smiling widely.

"Who is Y/N?" Thomas asked.
