Chpt. 9

    Newt's P.O.V.

      We arrived at another facility. We were assisted by a man named Janson. But all the gladers and I thought he looked at a ratman. He led us to some showers and we all showered. It actually felt good to shower for once, in clean water for the first time in a long time. We all finished showering, we changed into clean clothes and then we were led to this laboratory. They did some tests on them. They brought Thomas somewhere and then they led us to this cafeteria with other kids our age. I looked around for Y/N but I couldn't find her anywhere. I sighed as I followed the rest of the guys to an empty table. They gave us food and we started eating, there were other people who came up to us. They said they were from another maze. Maze C.

    Then we saw Thomas came in and Minho went up to him and led him to us.

"And there was this, big, loud explosion, and these guys came out of nowhere. Started shooting up the place." One of the guys said.

"It was intense." His friend added.

"They pulled us out of the maze and brought us here." He continued.

"What about the rest? The other people left in the maze, what happened to them?" Newt asked.

"I don't know. I guess W.I.C.K.E.D. Still has them." He said looking down, sad. I looked at the other guys, and they all looked at each other.

"How long have you guys been here?" I asked.

"Not long, just a day or two. That kid over there *points to a boy in the corner* has been in here the longest. Almost a week." He said.

"His maze was nothing but girls." His friend said. We all looked at him surprised.

"Really?" Minho said, shocked and probably jealous.

"Some guys have all the luck." He said. We all chuckled as we heard, Janson's or ratman, as me and the gladers called him, spoke aloud.

"Good evening, gentlemen. Ladies. You all know hot this works. If you hear your named called please rise in an orderly fashion, join my colleagues behind me where they will escort you to the eastern wing. Your new lives are about to begin." He said as everyone clapped.

    He called out some peoples names and then stopped. Everyone sighed sadly.

"Don't be discouraged, it I could take more I would. Don't worry. Your time will come. No eat up." He said and then left. Everyone clapped while we were confused.

"Where are they going?" Minho asked.

"Far away from here. A farm, some kind of safe place..." He said looking at us.

"Lucky bastards." He added and then he continued eating. Thomas saw Teresa in the other side and tried to call out for her. The guard told him to go back to his seat. He did and starting eating. After we all ate, they led us to a room. With real beds!! I haven't seen a real bed in a long time...

"What do you think their doing with her?" Thomas asked me.

"There's one thing I know about that girl. She can handle herself. Trust me. Don't worry about it." I said to him, climbing the bunk bed. After a few minutes, we were all asleep.

    I woke up to the sound of water running. I looked around and saw Thomas washing his face.

"Can't sleep?" I asked sleepily. He looked at me and softly sighed.

"Yeah, sorry if I woke you." He said and then lay back down below me.

"It's okay." I said and then there was silence. A few minutes of silence we both heard a creaking under us. Then we heard a voice.

"Psst! Hey, down here." A voice whispered. We both got of the bed and we saw a boy about our age in the vents.

"Come on, I have to show you guys something. But first I have to let you meet someone." He whispered as he crawled backwards back into the vents.

  We looked at each other and followed the mysterious boy into the vents. He led us to another room probably a mile or two away from ours. But before the boy opened the vents, he whispered something to us.

"Before I show you this, you must promise you will not tell anyone. Make sure no one you don't know follows you. And my name is Aris. But if I'll have to go in first, they don't really like when I don't warn them that I bring new people." He whispered. We both nodded.

   He then opened the vent opening the vent opening. And climbed out.

"Hey Aris, you ready for to see the event again?" A girl said.

"Yeah but there's someone or someones I need you to meet." He said.

"Thank God your warning us. The bastards you brought last time almost died because of you!" The same girl said. Aris bent down and told us it was okay to come out. So we did, I then looked around and saw many boys and a single girl. She looks like someone I know, but I can't remember.

"Newt..." the girl said, almost crying. Now I knew where I know her from. It was Y/N.

"Y/N?" I went up to her and hugged her as tight as I could. We pulled away from the hugged and looked at her in the eyes. The eyes I haven't seen in years.

"You still look beautiful after all these years...'' I said to her. She smiled and hugged me.

"So your the famous Y/N Newt's been talking about." Thomas said.

"I don't mean to be rude, but who the bloody Blade are you?" She asked. I laughed a little at they way she said it.

"I'm Thomas, the Greenie of the Glade." He said.

"Greenie? Glade?" She asked confused.

"Yeah about that, we changed a bit of the names in the Blade after you left...I'll probably tell you soon. But not right now." I said to her. She smiled and hugged me again.

"I don't mean to break this reunion up but we have to go, they'll be there soon and we might miss it.'' Aris said looking at his watch.

"Yeah right, but first I need to make sure it looks like I'm here." She said. She turned around and lifted her arm up and her pillow started lifting and then being put in a sleeping position and lifting the blankets and put in on top of the pillow. Then the blanket started lifting up and went back down again. It looked like there was an actual person there.

"Okay, that will make them think I'm still here. Okay let's got.'' She said getting closer to the vent.

"Be careful, Y/N. Don't get caught." One of the guys said.

"Yeah no-brain-Percy. Of course I'll be careful and won't get caught." She said standing up again.
