"Hey Anna."

Wait, what is going on he's not being his normal, jerk self? Maybe he only acts like that in school to make himself look cooler? Idk but he better hurry up cause I'm really hungry and I wanna talk to my friends since a few of the have been away for the summer.
"Okannaihavesomethingimportanttotellyouandilikecanstopthinkingaboutit"

"Holy crap Calum slow down, and start over because I didn't catch any of that"

He took a deep breath and restated what he already said but more clearly, "ok, so I have something to tell you and I can't stop thinking about it."

"Umm ok I don't know what you would have to tell me I have only know you for two years and we have barely ever talked....." I said with a perplexed expression on my face. Freshman year Calum moved here, no one knew his backstory and no one really took interest in him so he kind of just stayed in the shadows. Most girls though he was pretty cute though so he was always hitting on girls, but he would never end of dating any of them.

"Lies....."

"What do you mean lies?" Ok now I'm really confused what does he mean?

"You don't remember me at all from before I came here?"

"Not that I know of. Calum can you just get to the point I'm really confused, hungry, and I wanna go see my friends....."

"Ok fine when I looked into your eyes this morning I-I realized that you were at the orphanage with me about seven years ago, you were the girl who always stood up for me and we were best friends." Calum look teary eyed, but he wouldn't cry, he would never do that in public.

"Oh, my, God" I said and jumped into Calum's muscular arms and gave him the tightest hug ever. I would of never thought that the old orphanage friend and this tattooed guy standing in front of me was the same person. He was the only other person besides my dad who knew about my parents, and I am the only one who even knows a little bit about his. His past was so bad he couldn't even tell me without breaking down so I never pushed him too much to tell me I just let him cry on my shoulder. He was the only thing I liked about that entire orphanage and I cried when I left because I thought I would never see him again.

"When you left I was devastated, you were the only reason I hadn't ran away from there yet, and once you were gone nothing was holding me back. I ran away only a few weeks after you left and ended up in some gang, which didn't go well because they were in their twenties and I was ten..."

"Calum we have to catch up, I have missed you so much it's not okay. The first few days I cried because I thought I would never see you again and now here you are standing right in front of me." Then I went in for another hug.

"You don't know how hard my life was like without my best friend....wait, can we still be friends or would it ruin your reputation?"

"I honestly don't care about what people think, this is probably the best day of my life! You have helped me through so much and I would love to be there for you again."

"Hang out later? Maybe we can catch up and do some old orphanage traditions?"

"Of course why don't you come over to my house after school so you can meet my dad! He always said he wanted to meet you ever since I told him about how much you have helped me through and how you were my rock throughout the entire time I was at the orphanage." I said not being able to take the smile off my face because this is the best thing that has ever happened besides Alex.

"Your dad?" He said confused and almost angry.

"Oh I call Alex, the guy who adopted me my dad because he was so much better to me than my real dad ever was"

"Ok sounds good I'll meet you outside the school and maybe we can get some food on the walk back to your house?"

"Do you ever stop thinking of food?"

"Nope" Well at least nothing's changed besides his appearance and he smokes, he still the same old love able Calum.

" Haha, well I better go I will see you later, cal-pal"

"And I will see you later, Anna banana!"

On the walk back to where we sit for lunch I couldn't stop smiling. This is officially the best first day of school and possibly the best day in general.

When I got to my circle of friends Delilah's hazel eyes caught mine and then she asked,
"Why are you so happy?" She said with a little chuckle
