Chapter six: Didnt see that coming

Authors note: towards the end of the story Anna says Lucas, I know that Luke's real name isn't Lucas it's supposed to be like she's joking around with him.

"Nothing." I have no idea what I am going to tell Delilah, not another lie I can't do that, but I have to she isn't the best at keeping secrets so if she finds out that I went to an orphanage and was abused, people would treat me differently.

I continued to smile walking to my spot on the ground, in between my two best friends Delilah and Luke.

"Anna? You just talked to Calum you shouldn't be this happy." The way she talked made it sound more like a question. Ugh, what am I going to tell her.

"He apologized for what happened earlier, and it was really sincere so I just thought it was sweet." good going Anna yet another lie, when will you stop?

Once me and Delilah were done talking I noticed everyone else in my small group of friends not really paying attention to me and Delilah because they were too busy catching up. Our Circle had a certain order, to my left was Luke, then it went Ashton, Nicole, Jasmine, Michael, and then Delilah. I love our little circle, I can tell every single one of them virtually everything,besides my past.

After a few moments Delilah started talking to her boyfriend, Michael, about how much she "missed" him, she saw him two days ago, but whatever.

I started to talk to Luke because he was in Australia, the entire summer and I missed him so much. Yeah we face timed and texted but it wasn't the same. There isn't anything better then cuddling up to Luke after a long hard day, he is my best friend so it isn't weird at all, but I could never date him, at least I don't think, he's like the older brother I never had. I started to think about how long it's been since the last time that happened and then my thoughts got interrupted by Nicole.

"Guys, I have an idea, we should all go to the carnival tonight!"

"No way! Carnivals are so stupid all you do is walk around and spend hundreds of dollars on tickets to ride stupid rides." said Michael

"Awh come on Mikey, it sounds like fun, pleaseeeee" Delilah said begging Michael.

"Only if everyone goes, if one person can't go then I'm not going"

"Mike that's so stupid," I said trying to convince him to go because I don't want Delilah to have a bad time just because I can't go.

"Why because you can't go?"

"Maybe....." oh crap how am I gonna get myself out of this.

"Do you actually have plans tonight that don't involve us?" Luke said cheekily. Making my face go red.

"Whoa guys Anna made other friends besides us losers. " Nicole added.

"It's a miracle." jasmine said with a smirk.

"Wow you guys are great friends, and yeah I actually do and they may or may not involve Calum hood." OH SHIT! Why would I say that I just got so caught up in the moment. Ughhhhhh Luke is going to get mad at me because he absolutely hates Calum. He thinks he just uses girls then gets rid of them once he's done.

"Um Anna, why are you talking to him?" Omg I'm such an idiot. The one time I don't lie, I should of.

"When he apologized he asked me if I wanted to hang out later, just as friends, no big deal."

" No Anna this is a big deal what if he hits on and tries to take it too far?"

"I won't let that happen, I promise. You trust me right?" I said nervously.

"Of course I trust you, what if he came to the carnival with us, then that will make Delilah happy because Michael is going and I will be happy knowing he's not trying anything on you." Oh god he's so protective.

"Whatever, I will ask him in social studies, next period. But, everyone else has to agree on coming. So, Ash and Jasmine, you coming?"

In unison they said "I guess." And almost on cue everyone got really excited and started to talk about their summer again, even though we all( besides Luke and Nicole, she took a trip for most of the summer to Greece with her dad) hung out like every day. It was mostly Nicole talking about how beautiful Greece was though.

Ignoring everyone else talking I wanted to talk to Luke about Calum and what his problem is. There is a lot worse guys in our school and he barely acknowledges them but he is always talking about how much he despises Calum.

"Hey are you okay with me bringing Calum tonight?"

"Not really, I just don't thing he is your type."

"My type really, and what exactly is my type Lucas?"

"Idk good, caring, tall, blonde, blue-eyed, not the smartest so you can help him with math....." my eyes went wide when I realized who he was describing, himself.

"Uh Luke are you saying what I think your saying?"

"Yes Anna, I know it's crazy but I have liked you since eighth grade and I don't like Calum because he is always flirting with you."

"Luke I don't know what to say...."

"Don't say anything if it makes you uncomfortable but I just wanted you to know that, I love you."

Before I could say anything Luke ran off to "throw away" his left over food but he took his books and didn't come back to us.

"What was that about?" Ashton said puzzled.

Authors note: I AM SO SORRY FOR MESSING WITH YOUR EMOTIONS BUT I HAD TO. I THOUGHT IT WOULD SPICE UP THE STORY A LITTLE. AGAIN VERY SORRY
