No POV
Zashi- Dad
Aizawa-PopShinsou sat in a daze. The beeps of the machines rang in his ears. Soft sunlight fluttered around the room but it was unnoticed. He promised himself that no one would ever get hurt again, not when he could stop it. He was barely aware of Zashi sitting next to him, with same blank stare. " Dad, I-" Shinsou started, before he choked and fat tears rolled down his face. Zashi snapped out of his daze and encased his son in a tight hug." It's okay sweetie, it's okay" He whispered, his voice hoarse and low. A sharp contrast to his normal loud screams.
" Should have been paying more attention, I should have attacked that monster head on, I should-" Shinsou sobbed. His dads meant everything to him, and seeing one almost lifeless right in front of him was like stepping on legos barefoot.
Zashi thought for a moment before responding, " Shinsou, you did everything you could. And as a hero, that's all you can do.." " But it wasn't enough!" " If it was Pop would be awake right now, complaining about the attention he's getting!" Shinsou screamed, his face was bright red and stained with angry tears. Zashi just sighed, reasoning him with him now would be pointless. He wouldn't listen and it would only turn into a screaming match.
Finally he stood up and turned towards the door " I can see your angry and upset, so I'm gonna let you calm down for a bit while I get some food." He let out a weak smile as he pushed open the door open and left. Shinsou just sat, silently sobbing, letting the machines ring and his thoughts run ramped. He wasn't sure how much time had passed when a knock echoed through the room. Shinsou assumed that it was Zashi and called for him to come in. To his surprise, Izuku walked in with Skipper by his side.
" Oh, Greenie, It's you." He rasped " Why are you here?". " I wanted to thank you, for saving me." He responded, lowing himself into the chair. Shinsou stared in surprise, '...maybe... I did do something right today.' " Y-you're welcome, I could stand to see my friend get hurt.". Izuku just sat, with a large goofy smile plastered on his face, which throughly creeped out Shinsou. " ..Why are you staring at me like that..?"
" Thought you weren't here to make friends..?"
And for the first time that day, Shinsou smiled. " Alright, you got me there. But word gets out about this and I will come find you". Both boys laughed until Izuku's look slowly darkened to a more serious one. " I also wanted to ask you something. The entire time today, you looked at Tomura like you were ready to put him through a shredder... why was that..?"
Shinsou just stared at the ground, slowly his eyes glazed over and his whole body started to shake. Then one by one the tears fell, everything in him screamed to speak. To finally tell someone the whole story, but his jaw was clamped shut and refused to open.
" Shinsou you don't have to tell me, it's okay!"
"...no... I have to. I need to." He spoke at last.
With one final inhale, he began, " I was a gullible kid. I would believe just about anything you told me, regardless of how dumb it was." " I was also not the most well off, my mom was a single parent working minimum wage and my dad died before I was born. Meaning we didn't own a tv or a car to hear the news and I often walked home alone." His voice was low but steady " One day when I was about 5 years old, I was walking back home from school and there was a man calling for me in the alley..." " and being the dumb, naïve, gullible kid I was, I listened..." " I should have known walking in there was a bad idea but I did it anyways... and he told me he was hurt and lost..." Shinsou's voice started to shake. Nevertheless, He continued on " ... I told him he could come to my house and my mom could help him..." " So we walked home and I let us into the apartment we were staying at..." " and as soon as I shut the door I realized what I had done." " I had let in a stranger, even though everyone had told me not to trust them. And before I could change my mind he grabbed my shoulder, disintegrating some of it and later leaving a uneven scar, and threw me into the floor and went to the kitchen..."
He paused for a moment, and then he started to cry once more. Izuku calmly rubbed his back and Skipper started to lick his hands. "You don't have to finish" Izuku mumbled, his voice was low and soft. " No" Shinsou responded " As I was saying he went into the kitchen and I scrambled off of the floor after him... but I was too late... just as I rounded the corner... I heard a scream, then something shatter, then a thud."
" I looked down to see my mother half disintegrated and swimming in her own blood." " and to my horror, I looked up to see the stranger standing there with a creepy happy smile on his face. He told me his real name was Tomura and he was from the league of villains and that my mother had an unpaid debt with them that she refused to pay. And this was the consequence."
"I wanted to scream, I wanted to run to the police, and most of all I wanted to reverse trusting him at all. But the only thing I could do was collapse and cry over my mother's bloodstained ashes" At this point his face was buried into his hands and his face was red again and stained with new tears. " Thankfully he neighbors heard and saw everything and called the police. They arrested Tomura but I guess somehow he escaped and they transferred my mother to the station to do an autopsy.." " Finally DHS came to take me into custody, but then Aizawa stepped in. He had come with the police because he was patrolling the area at the time.. He said he would take me in and I could stay with him and Zashi who was his fiancé at the time" " The police agreed and I've been with them ever since."
Shinsou had stopped cry and was instead smiling fondly. Izuku sat both dumbfounded and amazed ' He's been through so much and yet continues to pursue what he wants... kinda like me..'. " Thank you for sharing that with me, I'm glad you trusted me enough to tell that story."
Shinsou laughed and smiled, gazing out at the setting sun. " I'm glad I could trust you to, Izuku"
The boys hugged each other tightly, with Skipper asleep at their feet.
Little did they know Zashi was sitting just outside the door, smiling just as fondly.
And here's the mighty feels chapter! Hope you enjoyed it and this is just the tip of the iceberg for some major events!
