After Gran Terino returned from the store the rest of the day was dedicated to ruthless training. By the time Izuku went to bed his entire body screamed in pain all he wanted to do was cuddle up with Skipper and go to sleep.
However, there was one more thing he had to do.
In the few moments of clarity he got during training, he watched how Gran Terino bounced from wall to wall. Only stopping for a second then launching to the next.
And Izuku was determined to figure it out.
Once he was sure his mentor was fast asleep, Izuku snuck downstairs and quietly pushed open the door. The night was calm and smooth, only a gentle breeze and a few couples walking stirred. Izuku tiptoed down the steps and walked into the alleyway next to the large apartment. The alley was a sharp contrast to nighttime scene he watched from the door; it was cold, dark and reeked of old trash. The air here was heavy and thick with smell and Izuku gagged a little. But nonetheless, Izuku needed to figure out how to quickly move from place to place if was going to get anywhere with master OFA.
'Alright.. I just need to launch full force, stop, and then do it again, right? Shouldn't be too hard.' Izuku decided before planting his feet into the ground, feeling his quirk surge through his feet and eventually encasing his entire body. Then with a rush of wind, Izuku launched himself to the first wall. He latched on, preparing for the next surface.. until he ran into a small problem...
He didn't know how to quickly turn OFA on and off
As a result, Izuku peeled off the wall and fell into a pile of garbage bag beneath him. "I guess I need to learn how to turn off quickly too" He mumbled as he tumbled out of the trash pile and back onto cold concrete. He walked back to his original starting point and tried again, this time reaching the second wall before he got stuck.
This went on for hours, each time Izuku encountering more problems and left to find new solutions. Before he knew it he could here the chirping of the birds flying overhead and the soft dawn light filtered into the dingy alley. After one final attempt, Izuku gave up. ' What am I missing?? I did exactly what I saw Gran Terino do..' He wondered defeatedly as he weakly pushed the door open. His night training mixed with his mentor's pervious beatings left him burnt out and almost unable to stand.
" Where on earth where have you been?? And why do you smell like rotten fish!!" A concerned and baffled voice called out, as more light flooded the room Izuku discovered it was Gran Terino standing in the kitchen. " I tried training on my own..." Izuku weakly responsed "...In the alley next door..". Gran Terino sighed and strolled up to the battered and exhausted apprentice " You've got a lot of spirit kid, now go take a shower. You reek. And then we'll have breakfast alright?"
About 10 minutes later Izuku re-entered feeling lighter and fresher. The shock of the cold water helped soothe his aches and gave him the wake up he desperately needed. " Much better, now put these Taiyaki into the microwave." The senior pro directed once Izuku reached the table "..But...Taiyaki isn't breakfast.." " Did I stutter?" He responsed calmly. Izuku just sighed, picked up the damp box, slid the half thawed fish out of the package, and set them on a plate in the microwave. About a minute later the microwave chirped and Izuku slid the warm plate of desserts towards his mentor, who was bouncing like an excited child.
He bit into it and then.. immediately spit it out.
"Argh! This is cold!!"
"But I followed the directions!" Izuku shouted defensively
"You put all the fish in there at once! You can't do that, it won't heat evenly!"
"...."
"..what?"
" I'm the fish!!"
"Did you hit your head on a trash can out there?" Gran Ternio asked perplexed, though deep down he knew exactly what he was doing. Izuku started rambling about how when he used OFA, He used it all at once at full power instead of channeling it into one specific place with a little bit of power. " And with where you are right now, you can only use about 5%" He calmly commented, cutting his apprentice off ' If All Might had trained you better, your limit would be higher..'
Even with his small limit, Izuku smiled widely. Finally he was getting somewhere! Sure he wasn't as far as he wanted to be but still! And for the first time, Izuku saw Gran Terino smile. " Alright kid, enough chit chat. Reheat these, properly, and then we've got a lot of work to do."
" oh yeah! And we're going on patrol tonight in another city, this one's too quiet to get anywhere. "

It is with a heavy heart that I will be discontinuing this story.
I tried by best to finish out this next arc, but to put it simply. My heart's not in it anymore. I'm not really in this fandom anymore and have just lost motivation to write.
I'm sorry to all of you who were looking forward to the next part and feel free to interpret the ending however you like.
And lastly thank you from the bottom of my heart for riding this out, I appreciate it so much and again I am so so sorry. I don't want to give y'all a half written story that lacks passion. Y'all don't deserve that.
For the last time, Plus Ultra
