June 3rd 1942

It's already June, the Marine Corps sent a median size of us to Midway to be there, I hope that I shot down some Japanese planes called zeros, I arrived to Midway at the end of last month and I heard that some of my friends got transferred to the USS Enterprise and the USS Hornet, the higher up in the Marine Corps, asked me if I wanted to be in a aircraft carrier, but I said no I rather be on the ground to fight the Japanese. The other Marines are doing their own things on the island, not me I'm putting more sandbags around my machinegun nets and putting more ammunition boxes next to my machinegun, so I don't have to run out of ammo and going back to getting more, some men had Springfield Rifles, I tried shoot the Springfield but I didn't like it at all, because it had a slow firing rate, put I did like the machineguns alot, they put me with a machinegun squadron of the 1st Marine Division. So the night came and I stayed out at my fox hole for tomorrow gun practice or a attack from the Japanese, I'm not sure anymore, but one thing that I'm most happy is that the US Aircraft carrier's are still up and fighting, I love the crew of those ships, and I'm praying that they will come and get us soon.

June 4th

As I woke up at 5:59am, I started to load my Browning M1917 for the evens that we have to do, and as I slowly awake, I seen the Japanese Feel, and I yelled loudly to the others that the Japs are coming, as I got onto my gun to stand and fight against the Japanese Zeros, I've seen thousands of Japanese planes coming to us, so I wait for them to get into firing range, about 20 or 30 minutes, they are now in my line of sight, I started to open fire on them and show the Japanese that they have awaken a sleeping giant, and the other Marines did the samething as well, as we were shooting at the Japanese planes our ammunition was getting low, but right at time the US planes came in and saved us all from been killed on Midway.

The battle started on the 4th of June and ended on the 7th of June.
