Princess (Bellamy Blake)

Chapter 8

"Sophie" I hear my name being whispered so I open my eyes and see my head resting on Bellamy's chest so I sit up quickly.

"Crap sorry" I tell him and he chuckles "let's go check if the fogs cleared" he says and we both stand up and make our way out of the cave "it's all clear" he says so I walk back in to wake Charlotte up

"Hey Charlotte" I whisper and she wakes up "yea" "the fogs cleared come on"I say and she gets up and we walk to Bellamy who is outside the cave.

"Anybody out here" Bellamy shouts but there's no answer "Jones?" He yells "we're here" Jones yells back so we follow the voice.

"Lost you in the stew, where'd you go" Bellamy asks them as we all stand together now.

"Made it to a cave down there, the hell was that?" Jones asks "I don't know" Bellamy replies.

"Where's Atom" I ask we all look around at each other "we should split up" I say "yeah" Bellamy says.

Charlotte and I walk away looking for Atom "you look over that way for a cave he could be in and I'll go over there stay in shouting distance" I say to her and we split up.

A few minutes later Charlotte begins screaming so I run over to her and stop where she is to see Atoms body covered in blisters "son of a bitch, Atom!" Bellamy says coming behind us and squatting down to Atoms body.

I walk over and squat on the other side of Atom and see that he's eyes are white meaning he's blind. I can hear him struggle to breathe so I look at Bellamy and shake my head meaning he can't be saved.

"Kill me" Atom whispers and Bellamy looks at me and I look down to Atom "kill me" he repeats.

Charlotte walks us to us and stands next to Bellamy she hands him the knife he gave her earlier

"I can't breathe" Atom says struggle

"Go back to camp" he says to the others "you too Charlotte" I tell her and she walks away with the others.

"Kill me" Atom says once more and Bellamy hold the knife unsure of what to do

"Ok, I'm going to help you" I tell Atom and he try's to nod his head as much as he could.

I begging humming and stroking his hair I reach out for Bellamy's knife and he puts it in my hand. I then plunge the knife into Atoms neck and pull it out, I continue humming until I can no longer hear him struggling.

"Hey I heard screams" Clarke says running up to Bellamy and I and she sees Atoms body "what happened" she asks "the fog happened" I tell her. Wells and Bellamy carry Atoms body on a stretcher while Finn and Clarke walk up the front I stay behind all of them.

"Hey everyone they're back" a kid shouts inside the camp while another one opens the gate and we walk in.

"We've gotta get to Jasper, I'll need boiled water to make the medicine" Clarke says

"Get Clarke whatever she needs" Bellamy says to a girl

I stand around looking at Atoms body with the jacket covering his face I killed someone I keep thinking over and over again.

Octavia goes to walk forward but I stop her "come on I need to talk to you" I tell her and she pushes past me and Bellamy stops her this time.

"Octavia just stay there, please stay back" Bellamy tells her "why"she asks and pushes Bellamy out of the way and squats down next to Atom and lifts the jacket that was covering his face.

"Atom" she whispers to herself and begins tearing up

"There was nothing I could do" Bellamy says.

"Don't" she says and covers Atoms face back up and walks off and I go follow her.

"Octavia!" I shout and she turns around "he didn't kill Atom" I tell her "what" she says "I did" I tell her "he got caught up in the acid fog and when we came out he was begging for us to kill him, I'm so sorry just don't take this out on Bellamy" I tell her and she nods her head and walks away.

I walk over and sit by the camp fire and wrap Bellamy's jacket closer around me that reminds me I need to give it back to him.

I sit there staring into the fire until I feel a presence come sit next to me "Hey" Bellamy says "hey, I told Octavia what happened so she isn't mad at you anymore" I tell him "why" he asks.

"Because you didn't do anything wrong even if you did kill him it was still my fault that he was like that I should've gone after him" I tell Bellamy "if you went after him the two of you would be dead and Octavia would kill me" he says.

"I'm going to bed goodnight" I tell Bellamy "goodnight" he says and I stand up and walk off to my tent.

"Hey O" I say walking in the tent and she turns around and looks at me "Hey Soph, who's jacket is that" she asks crap I forgot to give Bellamy back his jacket.

"Uh no ones" I tell her and she smirks at me "who's the guy" she tells me and I laugh "there's no guy I just borrowed it and forgot to give it back" I tell her and I lay in my makeshift bed "I'm gonna find out who's that is" she tells me "goodnight Octavia" I tell her "goodnight" she tells me and I go to sleep.

I walk to the graves and see Clarke standing over Wells' grave - grounders killed him last night.

I go and stand next to her and see that she's crying I pull her into my arms and hug her "he didn't get my father executed my mother did, I spent so long hating him for nothing and now he's gone" she says crying and I begin tearing up.

"Clarke, Sophia get over here now" Octavia yells in a panic so we follow her to a tent and in front of us are Wells fingers and a knife from the dropship
