Taiga, Uriel, Shadow and Kimber stood still inside Nayadra's room, still paralyzed at what they had just done and witnessed.
Taiga immediately gave chase, pushing the door aside and speeding down the hall and into the waiting area. The monsters that previously sat in their chairs were all standing, facing Taiga with hatred. Nikasia hid behind a monster that Taiga recognized. Storm Beard.
"Please, let me-"
"I think enough has been said, Taiga," interrupted Storm Beard, approaching his leader confidently. "You killed the top monster that cured hundreds of innocent monsters just to stop people from being saved. You want monsters to continue being desperate and weak so you can act like a hero. Frankly, I've had enough."
"Storm Beard, that isn't true in the slightest-"
"I've HAD ENOUGH!" he roared, shoving Taiga into the wall. The tiger resisted his primal urges, ignoring his former ally. He stood in the center of the room, arms in the air.
"I have no intention of hurting anyone. That was a former enemy that I killed. I was only helping the people of Monster Legends," he said. Storm Beard's kind heart sank. Taiga was a liar.
"You lie!" the lion shouted, sending a fist toward his teammate. Taiga caught it effortlessly, twisting his arm to the side and retaliating with his own paw, which landed forcefully toward his new opponent.
Storm Beard's jaw contorted unnaturally, a spurt of blood erupting from the predator's nose. The crowd gasped, as Taiga's eyes turned yellow with sudden fury. He snatched a dagger, slicing it into the soldier's ribs, pressing it forward before retracting it into his belt. Storm Beard took a knee, bleeding heavily while leaning downward in defeat.
Taiga rose, and put his arms up once more. "I don't know what came over me, I...I don't want to hurt anyone!"
Kimber and Uriel rushed to the scene, a scream erupting from Uriel's lips upon seeing Storm Beard's bleeding person.
"It's alright," hollered Taiga. "Everything is ALL RIGHT." Nikasia began to cry, as several monsters got up from their docile positions. They all had some sort of weapon on them, as they were all with Storm Beard upon entering the hospital.
"Stop! He'll kill you all!" screamed Kimber. Taiga glanced at Kimber, shaking his head solemnly.
"I'm done killing. I refuse to be the monster you see me as now. I am still the same leader as appointed, and I will never change. I assure you all, you have the wrong impression." Taiga looked back at Kimber and Uriel, distracted enough to be unaware of the enraged Yimburbur behind him, clashing his massive club onto Taiga's back.
"You would've killed the girl too!" he roared, bashing it a second time, but into the floor, as Taiga dodged. He sliced Yimburbur's ankle, earning a groan from the attacker, but again stepping away from the conflict as to convince the attackers of his innocence.
"He's just toying with us," growled Zombic, a former lieutenant of General Nishant's army.
"We have to save the people," intonated Yedra, a nature sage turned barbarian. Her partner Son Cookie had been brutally slain in the arena.
"The only way to defeat him is if we rush. As one," said Drakor, a formidable warrior from the badlands. Zombic, Drakor, and Yedra charged into Taiga, each one missing their target.
Taiga ducked from Drakor's fiery club, and barely leapt over Zombic's dual blades. Yedra screamed, thrusting her spiky knives into Taiga's arm. He only frowned at her, stepping away from the sage.
"Why won't you fight!?" roared Drakor. "You traitor!"
"I will never understand ones who cannot admit their own faults."
