Chapter 4: Change

We returned to our dorm while the boys were still holding Britney until we entered.

"What happened?" Morgan said worriedly. We all looked at each other before they let Britney go.

"She almost got us in danger, ask her." Lucky hissed and slammed the door shut of his bedroom.

"Britney, you wouldn't have attacked that, you knew the consequence. I wish you had thought of us before you started." I consoled.

"She hurted me! I just fought back! Do you honestly believe that liar?!" she yelled furiously.

"I can't read minds Britney, but it's obvious that you're lying. Don't underestimate us, we're your friends we're not fools like other creatures." she just rolled her eyes at me locked herself in her room.

"Woooh now that was drama. Come on Jazper help me carry Alice to her room and let's go to sleep." Jazper nodded and followed Morgan.

"I'll be sleeping too," Dominic says I just hugged him. "Fuck I'm going to sleep on the floor again." I heard him whisper before coming to Britney's room.

It's now 1am, I'm sitting on the sofa while drinking water. Suddenly I heard the door open and shut close.

"What took you so long?" he was obviously surprised that I was still awake. He thought no one would notice that he was gone.

"I just went out to get some fresh air." then he scratched his nape.

"4 hours to get some fresh air? Wow now that's interesting." I said sarcastically.

"Why do you care if where I was gone?" he said angrily. I rolled my eyes and gave him a meaningful look.

"I care because you followed one of our suspects. Do you think I would care if you followed a child."  I said, sarcasm was evident in my statement.

"Fine, you win. I asked her whether she would spread what she saw." I smirked.

He will also tell the truth he only made himself suffer.

"She just shook her head answering a no and drove away in her motorbike." I just nodded. We both went into our room together. Lucky says both creatures will be in one room. As his followers and friends we followed his command.

"Do you think that one day we will kill each other just for our sake?" I asked randomly, he just looked at me and laughed.

"There's a chance but I don't think so, we all appreciate each other. For example me, I would sacrifice my life when the time comes." he said amd lie down.

We turned away from each other, Edward and I are not as close as he and Lucky, but we come together when it comes to problem solving. It's awkward between us especially the time I confessed to him the awkwardness became even worse. Now that have moved on from him, I crushed my feeling to nothing. I don't know why I liked him so much.

It's Saturday, we're packing our stuff. Everything is all planned, Alice is awake again so we can all go to the battle tonight.

If the morgue was connected to Jazper's mind then we are ready for what could happen.

"I'll be missing the blood of the bodyguards here, right babe?" Morgan said and Jazper nodded.

"And I was wondering where's tight security that Dad told me." Lucky said and the two vampires laughed at the sight.

I noticed Britney was just quiet while watching Lucky. She's so really deeply in love with him.

'She should be grateful that Lucky had nothing to do with him. If not, she had been killed by the man he loved most a long time ago. '

"I hope the 10th member cooks well. For us to eat differently, we just eat sardines." Hanz joked.

"Of course, when Britney was cooking we almost died." Dominic chuckled, they all laughed except for Britney, Lucky, Edward and me.

But I rarely just see them happy, my eyes are full when I stare at the genuine smiles they have. Since Zoe's death of Lucky's fake mate, things have suddenly changed.

Lucky used to be the one to start the war on our friends. Now he looks like a killjoy, Zoey's death left a deep wound in Lucky's heart, to this day it has not been treated.

I liked Zoey for Lucky, but destiny wasn't to them. Zoey had a weak heart she won't survive if Lucky will change her. She asked Morgan to turn her to a vampire but she will not make it.

Lucky searched hours and hours for what Zoey's body can take, but found nothing. She was too weak to be like us, to be with Lucky.

"It looks like you're thinking deep down.. mind sharing?" I was back to reality when Edward suddenly appeared.

I just looked at him blankly and got back to watching my friends.

"You know, we're both witches but we're not close.. unlike others who are close." he said, I sighed.

"You know Edward.. I can't feel anything towards you. Even friendship, that's why I'm here because I'm friends with most except for." I explained and left him dumbfounded.

I stayed with Alice just waking up from her recovery. She was drinking the magical tea I gave her.

I don't understand myself, I can make teas but can't cook human food. Hopefully we don't just always rely on canned goods.

"Your thoughts are really deep Cara, Morgan and Jazper can obviously hear you because it's loud." Alice exclaimed, I just looked at her and chuckled.

"I've been thinking more than speaking, Alice. I like how I'm quiet." I explained.

"The more you're quiet, the louder your thoughts are." I just chuckled and ruffled her fluffy hair.

We have nothing to do but to wait till midnight for the battle.
