Chapter 21: Forever

Everyone remained quiet while eating their food, the sound of forks and spoons are the only thing that can be heard. The atmosphere is heavier than usual and no one bat an eye at each other.

Felicity found the found the food hard to chew as something was not right with everyone and seems like everything around her is wrong. Like how the table wasn't as jolly as the first time she shared a meal with them.

She looked at Edward and Lucky but the two boys just smiled at her like nothing was wrong or they didn't notice anything.

Dinner ended and Felicity was still troubled with what happened earlier. She kept rolling round and about on her bed in frustration.

"Are you okay?" Felicity rolled around her bed to face the person that was leaning against her doorframe.

The demon was staring at her with sleepy eyes. Like he just woke up from his sleep. His posture wasn't all mighty and confident like how it's used to be.

"How did you know..." she sat up from her bed and stared at the lightning blue colored orbs that the boy possesses.

"So it is true that something is not okay." she was caught off guard with what the boy said. "The floor keeps creaking everytime you move so that's why I woke up. Sucks to have this ability." he joked and started approaching the girl.

Like reflex, she scooted a bit to spare some space for Lucky on her bed. "Tell me what's wrong..." he sat down on the edge of the bed and leaned on the bedframe.

"It's.... nothing." she averted her gaze to her palms, avoiding Lucky's consoling stare. "I'm sorry for waking you up, you can go back to sleep now." she added.

The boy just pulled her close and wrapped his arms around his small frame. "You may not believe me but the wariness you're feeling right now is how I'm feeling too." he says playing with her hand, squeezing it or fiddling her fingers.

"This is why I think you're my mate and it just strengthen my beliefs seeing you here with me, feeling the same emotion." he added and gently pushes her head on his shoulder. "How can I help you? Because now, I'm not feeling any better." Felicity hears him chuckle slightly.

He keeps doing it for minutes, waiting for her answer but nothing came from the fragile demon.

"Should I leave and let you be?" Felicity quickly shakes her head and nuzzle onto his chest. He let out a smile and started caressing her long brown hair. "So that's a no then..." he whispers.

Lucky felt her arms wrapping around his torso as a big sigh he assumes because of relief came from her. The weight his feeling suddenly started disappearing.

Everything came at peace again as the two demons felt each other's presence. She doesn't know how and why from ignoring each other to this have came but she's thankful this happened.

Not long enough, her eyelids startes to become heavier and her breathing suddenly steadies and the pressure on her body disappears like air.

Lucky notices it and suddenly hums a melody so beautiful and calm that can put anyone into deep sleep. That's what happened to Felicity, the cold midnight wind hugging her and it never took long before she's already in dreamland.

The man felt accomplished in putting her at peace. He doesn't feel his heart race or stomach turn and do summersaults but it all felt like it was the same.

He gazes upon her face that reflects the moonlight. A face sculpted perfectly by the gods, angelic but fierce and sharpness was obvious.

It felt nostalgic to him, like how Zoe spent every night in his bedroom, talking and enjoying each other's company until they both fall asleep amd fight another battle against his father.

The moon was always there to watch their affection. He always thinks how would it be if they survived the battle, how would it be if Zoe was the one in his arms right now.

But he can't help to forget Zoe for the person in his embrace right at the moment. He never had the heart to compare her like how he did with every woman he slept with.

'I want this to last forever, I don't want this to end..'
