CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE

SOFIA was aware that Zafrix entered the other bedroom. Hindi naman niya magawang iwasan iyon dahil winasak lang naman nito ang pader na siya sanang pinakaharang sa pag-itan ng kuwarto nilang dalawa. Hindi pa rin siya nito pinapansin. And it's been a couple of days since she managed to pissed him off. At simula noon ay hindi na siya nito kinikibo. She couldn't believe that someone like him is capable of doing that.

Nalalapit na rin ang araw na gaganapin ang royal gala, the night of her introduction to the whole werewolf community. Halos lahat din ng mga bisita nila ay nakarating na. Naayos na rin ang gusot sa pag-itan ng Resistance at ng kaharian. Rico admitted that they were at fault but pleaded that he stayed there for Glory. Hindi kasi pumayag si Marcus na umalis si Glory at nagbantang pagwawalaan ang resistance. That wasn't his type, though. Alam ni Sofia na sinabi lamang iyon ni Marcus para hindi umalis si Glory. They have already explained to Rico and Glory about the meaning of 'beloveds' at mukhang naintindihan naman kaagad ng mga ito iyon.

Glory was beyond shocked and scared at the same time. Imagine growing up and being trained to fight off the non-humans then end up being a beloved of one of them, truly unexpected. But it's Fate that we are talking about. And the bastard seems to enjoy pairing them up and writing their twisted destinies.

Iyon nga lang, Glory Jean also asked Sofia if she could at least stay away from Marcus for the mean time. Although, they had already explained everything about beloveds, she's still not comfortable with the set up of having to share a room with Marcus. Mabuti na nga lamang at hindi ito nag-violent reaction katulad ng inaasahan nila. She chose to stay. Aminin man nito o hindi, Glory is already attracted to Marcus. Naiintindihan naman nila dahil natatakot pa rin ito. And Rico is staying as her guard. Iyon lamang ang paraan upang magtiwala na rin nang tuluyan ang buong Resistance sa kaharian ni Zafrix Wolfe. They are staying in separate bedrooms in the East wing, kung saan malapit ang pamilya ni alpha Lawrence. That is also to make sure that Marcus will not cause any trouble.

"You're in good hands, ate Glory. Marcus is really a good person and a real gentleman," pangungumbinsi niya rito isang hapon nang mamasyal silang dalawa sa malawak na hardin.

"He tried to bite me, though. Parang hindi naman gentleman ang tawag doon," sagot nito habang nakasimangot.

Sofia smiled in amusement. "He want to mark you as his. That's completely normal. Medyo masakit nga lang talaga sa una."

Glory blushed and looked at her. "Bakit hindi mo sa akin sinabi ang tungkol sayo? I was very worried that the werewolf king would hurt you."

She looked back at her guiltily. "I can't. Hindi rin kasi ligtas na sabihin sayo, ate. But we're good... I think." She let out a sigh and looked ahead. They are still not in speaking terms.

"Why? You looked like you're in a lover's quarrel or something," tukso nito.

Namula kaagad ang mukha niya. "Hindi, ah."

Glory laughed and made fun of her blushing face. "Hindi ko akalain na makikita kitang ganito. You used to be so cold when it comes to men. I could still remember how you shut those guys who wanted to court you."

"Someday, I will make fun of you as well," banta niya rito.

"We'll see, Sofie. But right now, susulitin ko muna ang panahon na puwede kitang asarin."

She scowled at her.

"It's a good thing that your throat isn't burning anymore," pagbabago nito ng usapan. Nabanggit na rin niya rito ang tungkol sa kung ano siya.

"I'm actually struggling, but Luna Cyan says that I need to get used to being with humans. H'wag kang mag-alala, ate. There are a lot of royal guards on stand by."
