CHAPTER FOURTY-THREE

THE next morning, Sofia woke up by the sound of someone talking. Her body feeling strangely hot and heavy. She stretched her arms out and winced when her joints ached a little as if she hadn't move for a few days.

Nakakapagtaka naman. Is she sick?

She groggily got up from the bed and noticed that Zafrix have already left her side. She felt a little disappointed that she wasn't able to see him first thing in the morning. Lalong bumigat nang kaunti ang pakiramdam niya. She used the back of her hand to feel her forehead. Wala naman siyang lagnat pero medyo mainit talaga ang pakiramdam niya.

Werewolves are known to have warm temperature than normal human beings. But this time, she's feeling a bit different and also a little . . . itchy. She wasn't even sure if she could get sick.

Napalingon siya sa gawi ng saradong pintuan. She could hear the sound of talking from the hallway. Inalala niya kung paano siya nakapunta sa kuwarto nila ni Zafrix.

Muling sumagi sa isip niya ang nangyari kagabi. They are now officially married, and she had been crowned as the queen of werewolves. She felt so happy that they had finally sealed their bond. But on the other hand, she also felt a little troubled at the same time.

Naaalala rin kasi niya ang munting panaginip tungkol kay Patrick nang makaidlip siya kagabi. Dala siguro ng sobrang pag-aalala para rito ay kung anu-ano na ang napapanaginipan niya.

Patrick would never hurt her, right? He would never want her dead...

She shook her head. She's overthinking again. Ito ang isa sa mga dahilan kung bakit kung anu-ano na ang napapaginipan niya. She was feeling so troubled that Zafrix couldn't help but noticed it last night. Sinabi niya rito ang tungkol sa panaginip. At katulad nga ng pilit niyang ikinukumbinsi sa sarili ay sinabi rin nitong panaginip lamang iyon. Pagkatapos niyon ay diretso na silang natulog. At dala na nga rin siguro ng pagod ay nakatulog din siya kaagad nang mahimbing.

Hindi iyon ang inaasahan niyang magiging unang gabi nila ni Zafrix bilang mag-asawa. They are officially married now, but they hadn't mated yet. And she's already at the right age to be in that kind of 'situation' but...

Nakaramdam siya ng pamumula ng mukha at muling ipinilig ang ulo para alisin ang isiping nag-lalaro sa kaniyang balintataw. And it's not helping that her body temperature keeps increasing.

Nagpakawala siya ng hininga bago naglakad patungo sa bathroom. Maybe a cold shower will make her feel better.

Ngunit hindi pa man siya nakakailang hakbang ay napahinto siya nang muling marinig ang boses nina Zafrix at Billius na nag-uusap sa labas ng kuwarto nila. She listened to their conversation with curiosity.

"The recent report that was sent to me was getting better. I think the trackers are finally getting a hang of what they should do to capture the remaining vampyrs," mahinahong sabi ni Zafrix sa malalim na tinig.

"Sounds good, but we still have to do another thing."

As usual, they were just talking about deranged and vampires but something from Billius' response caught her interest.

"Sigurado akong may alam si Vein tungkol sa mga nangyayari ngayon at mangyayari pa."

"You mean, the seven deadly sins?"

"Yes. There must be something going on in the other side. There's no way that those sins will be able to escape on their own."

"Do you think that Vein has something to do with this?"

"I think not. 'They' wouldn't let someone like him be involved in their plans. Pero sigurado akong may alam siya tungkol doon."

Sofia's eyes widened when she overheard Billius' following statements. He just told Zafrix about going to where Vein Ruiz is being locked up, and ask him about the Seven Sins because he might have an idea about them.
