Jacob pulled into his driveway, now in full view of his beige coloured garage. As I starred in awe at the sight of his house, the leafless tree standing next to his home, the Christmas decorations plastered around the roof, and the golden bricks shining bright with the golden sky, I couldn't help but to tilt my head to the side, and gaze at my mothers reaction.

Expecting a smile, a tinkle in her eyes, even a jaw drop reaction, on her face held panic, her eyes open wide, her hand holding a tight grip on her purse, and lastly her neck taking in huge gulps. As I furrowed my eyebrows tight. Not knowing what to do, I rested my hand on the door handle and pulled on it, now unlocking the car and letting it open up.

This situation worried me, as I have never seen my mother so nervous. Not even at the time when she told me that her and dad would get a divorce. As my feet hit the cemented floor. And the winters air made it's way towards my direction. I breathed in gently, and closed the car door. Following the footsteps of my loved ones.

Climbing the stone made stairs. My heart was beating at a rapid pace. For the first time in forever I'm about to meet Jacob's parent. Parent as in dad. He's told me multiple times that he's living his life with his father, as his mom died a few years back from a drunk driver. As he told me his biggest secret I couldn't help but to let a tear shred, as my sympathy for him grew even more. I've grew honour for him to trust me enough to tell me his secret. But as I think back through it. Am I dating him out of sympathy? Am I doing this only because I feel like he needs a female point of view in life?

"Honey come on, what are you waiting for?" My mon smiled at me lightly. The panic of her face now long gone. As if it never occurred. The sudden change in emotion baffled me. As I climbed up the final step and starred at my boyfriend leaning in to ring the doorbell. I played with my tiny little fingers, twisting and turning them around feeling awkward by the sudden silence of all three of us. Head facing down, only now paying attention to the movements in front of me, I didn't hear the door open until an unfamiliar voice spoke.

"Oh! Jacob you're here all ready-" the voice immediately stopped. As I stood my head up, my eyes now focused on the front door. My eyes slightly widen at the man in front of me. His curly brown mane put on to his head perfectly. His chocolate brown eyes narrowed and sharp and his height was surely above natural.

I smiled gently, to give out a nice expression. But as the man still didn't speak, his voice making weird unusual words. I raised my eyebrows lightly, as I followed his eye placement. His gaze was focused on my mother. As if the whole world has suddenly blanked out.

That's what I would've thought.

If on both of their faces didn't held panic and fright.

"Well it's nice to finally meet you Mr...?" My mom finally spoke out. Breaking the awkward tension that were lingering on top of them. As Jacob's dad cleared his throat, letting the dry and yet deep sound escape from his throat he smiled politely and held a hand out.

"Mr. Sanders." He grinned widely, not breaking eye contact with my mother. I watched the both of them as their eyes were glued together not bothering to look away. As I turned around to gaze at Jacob's reaction he had a mix of disgust and uncomfortable written all over him. As I turned around still noticing they weren't breaking eye contact Jacob and I cleared our throats simultaneously attempting to pop their bubble.
Both of our parents heads shook, leaving a sign that they were now back on earth.

"Uh, dad. Can we come in? We're freezing out here." Jacob said speaking for all of us. Turning around to face my beau I agreed as I watched him cross his arms rubbing from each side. As Mr. Sanders moved to the side, now leaving enough room for people to come in. I was ready to step foot in the house, until Jacob harshly pushed me to the side barely causing me to loose my balance and fall on the pile of colourful leaves located next to the house. As I took time to catch my balance now standing back to my own two feet. Both parents and I starred at Jacob unimpressed. He gently shrugged it off, signalling that he had understood nothing. He slowly slid off his shoes, one by one gently, now revealing his black socks.
