FALLEN ANGEL - Kim Taehyung - BTS V - KTH

Chapter six.

Something had changed in Lucifer after he saw Venus, he had experienced more emotions than ever. He wasn't the same. His mind was occupied with Venus only. She had given up heaven for him and he had pushed all memories of her out as if they never existed. Too caught up in the rage she was forgotten. It made him mad at himself, he had created distance between them because of his selfish grudge against God. He hated the almighty for all the pain he had made Venus go through. The innocent angel that hadn't even fully grown her wings yet. Her innocence called out to him. He longed to be near her. He missed her.

His shadow lingered around Venus ever since she was taken back to the mortal world. His shadow was with her all the time, if she needed him, he would be there. The first few weeks of her return were dreadful to witness. She was suffering the cures of a fallen one. She was being taunted by her past, which she couldn't remember and her dark circles were the proof. So he had countless times been there in his true form to ease her pain during the night.

The underworld rarely saw him so his absence had gone unnoticed.  But due to his binding to the underworld he couldn't be with her long in his true form, and leaving his shadow behind was one of the hardest things he had to do every time. He wished he could be with her without having to return.

As his visits went on Venus with time had become more vibrant and light, he was shocked at how she reacted to his presence. She felt it and it never failed to make him happy. He had soothed her bad memories with happy ones. He sat there beside her bed every night and patted her head and took her pain away, she always smiled in her sleep when they came in contact. Although he was there he wished for more, the greed was a part of his curse he couldn't escape. Every night it grow, so he soon called out her name every night with hopes she would remember him but she was enabled by the higher corrupted force he despised so much.     

"Find my true vessel." Lucifer commanded Howard after one of his visits to Venus. He had found out she would be leaving her hometown after the summer. He couldn't bear the thought of her alone in a big city. Humans were vicious creatures that could stomp all over her with just their words, he hated them. But he hated more how God had turned Venus so fragile and nothing like the strong angel she was meant to be. God had left her for the wolves, to fend for herself. He knew all the angel, how much of a fraud they were. They broke her and now the world filled with cruel clay vessels were after her. She has suffered enough he thought. He had to protect herself himself. Then the day came when everything would change.

Lucifer and Howard walked alongside the bay of the lake that seemed to be forgotten in the middle of the summer. It was surrounded by thick forest that whispered secrets. Between the depths of it fog lingered. It was an abandoned place by choice, although peaceful it seemed to call to all evil. Countless events led it to a bad reputation now only lost souls seemed to find their way here.

"So the sinner lays here?"

"Yes, my lord." Howard confirmed as he bowed slightly.

"He willingly walked into the lake last winter since he's your true vessel, his body hasn't deteriorated. You won't have any problem walking among the mundane as him, nobody has come looking for him. He's truly forgotten." Howard explained.

"How come?" Lucifer asked as he stopped and looked ahead over the lake.

"His family had recently moved to a new town because of his father's alcoholism and gambling addiction, they lost their house and were forced to move into a one room apartment." Lucifer sneered at the information, humans and their weak mind amused him. He found them utterly disgusting and pathetic because of their own self destructive ways of living yet seeking the best and thinking they deserved it.

"The sinner killed his father for abusing his sister."  Lucifer smiled at that. So his vessel liked justice, just like him. It impressed him. Howard looked up at him and soon averted his gaze to the ground and continued.

"But his sister took the blame for him, being younger than him meaning she would get less of a penalty. However it still managed to get her fifteen years of jail time. Which is why he lays here at the bottom of the forgotten lake." Howard sighed finishing up.

Lucifer stayed still for awhile just looking over the lake without blinking. As if he could see the sinner walk into the cold water without hesitation and accepting his chosen fate, his punishment. To Lucifer he didn't seem like a sinner anymore, yet he knew in God's eyes he still was because he refused the greatest gift God offers to mankind - life.

Lucifer liked his vessel, it in its own way was defiant of God, just like him.

Lucifer started to walk towards the dark water, the sun light dimmed as thick gray clouds emerged and darkness in no time took over, the wind blew more frantically and howling echoed as indescribable sound filled the air. Soon cold occupied the lakeside as if all liveliness had been sucked from it. As soon as he was about to take his first step into the water it started to freeze up and the splatter of water soon turned to crackling noise as it went from liquid to solid. Lucifer stepped onto the surface he had created and just walked blankly to the middle of the lake, Howard followed behind on the now frozen lake.  

"What's the kids name?" He finally asked looking over at Howard, whom bowed further avoiding Lucifer's gaze.

"Kim Tae Hyung." 

"Take him out." Lucifer ordered.

Howard knelled down closing his eyes and putting his hand down onto the cold surface. Howard's powers were strongest among the demons in the underworld because he was always in the presence of Lucifer which enhanced his demonic ability. He got the title king of the crossroads because of the deals he made with the mundane with his advanced ability. He could only imagine the power Lucifer himself possessed. He was capable of tremendous deeds only because of him.

As he reopened his eyes the vessels smudgy outline hovered and glowed upon the cold surface. The body was still at the bottom of the lake Howard had called out his soul because that was Lucifer's pass and would allow him to walk alongside the humans as one of them.

Howard backed away as he saw Lucifer close his eyes and start the process. The wind howled more than ever as trees of the forest bent as if they were spineless, the thick ice that had formed upon the lake cracked beneath his feet as he started running back to the sore. Scared of what was to come.

Clouds circled above Lucifer, lighting present interwoven in the dark clouds. Lucifer inhaled deeply and held his breath as his binding to the underworld weakened, taking in the soul and allowing himself to be captured into the vessel. Thunder shook the frozen lake as the binding broke. Howard was thrown away by unseeable force that blinded his sight with light. A bang echoed after the ground stopped moving. Howard's senses dulled as he lay on the ground. Lifting his head with agony  he saw miles of trees surrounding the lake had fallen from the impact too. Looking back at the lake, he saw the young body of a man walking towards him and not the dark creature he was used to. Howard quickly came to his senses and sat on his knees bowing. Footsteps neared him as the mans feet came into view.

"I will be gone from the underworld until it's time to finish the ritual, don't look for me, don't tell anyone about this and don't you dare answer to any archangel that come looking for me." Lucifer took a hold of Howard's cloak around the neck and made him look into his eyes. Howard shivered under the stare yet not having enough courage to break the eye contact.

Lucifer let go of Howard as he fell to the ground. Scuffing he dusted his new hands and stared Howard down as he said his last warning.

"And lastly don't you dare sit upon my throne just because I'll be gone."
