Chapter 16

~oOo- Prince Jacobs POV

  It was 4:30 by the time we arrived at the cathedral. It was an early sunset today, and the sun was nearing its peak in the sky. There was a stage set up for the Coalesce girls, and us royals.
  All people knew was that the Royal Rose Deity was going to pass on. They knew somebody would be taking her place, but not who.
  I walked up to my seat and was approached by Lea Ryan.

Lea: Your highness? It is an honor to meet you. I'm afraid one of the other girls hasn't made it, and there isn't a chair for her.

Prince Jacob: She will be here soon enough, do not worry. Now before any of the other girls get jealous of you, please return to your seat.

Lea: Thank you, your highness.

  Lea turns on her heel returning to her seat. I slightly watch her with an eyebrow raised.  
  Her posture was horrible, makeup way overdone, and her dress way too revealing for a first outing. I watched as she ignored the other girls when they were talking to her, sometimes not even batting an eyelash in their direction.  
  The crowds went on for miles on either side. Hundreds of guards had to be stationed around the road, so the cars could just pull in.
  The royal family's car wasn't the most heavily guarded, but was close. The most heavily guarded car rolled up.
  From outside you couldn't see through the tinted windows, but you could feel the energy of the person inside.
  Caily stepped out first clipboard in hand. Bustling over she greets the girls and then me.

~oOo~ Ellie's POV

  I'm sitting in the limousine when a guard offers his hand. Caily told me when the guard offers his hand it's time to start.
  I take a deep breath reaching up for his hand. He helps me get out, and escorts me to the steps. Before he leaves he mutters something in my ear.

Guard: It's time to greet them.

  I take another deep breath, and turn around. The crowd goes wild! They cheer and hold up signs saying the New Godess!, Long Live The Royal Rose!, Long Live the Rose!
  It was all so exciting. I smiled at the crowd, and turned towards the royal family. The king stands taking position at the podium.

King: Welcome Vetia! It has not been even a week, and the Royal Rose Deity has come for the first time to give her blessing. She has chosen a young girl who has proven to be a very amazing person in such a short time!
  1 week ago rebels came into the palace unknowingly, and tried imitating our dearest Caily. This girl caught video evidence of 2 guards and the imposter Caily killing Breanna Clemns.
  Thankfully she made it in time to save her.
  We have caught the traitors as well as 3 girls who smuggled the imposter in. The 3 girls are from the Coalesce, as you can see only 6 remain. Ms. Amelia, Ms. Clarise, and Ms. Pamella were found to be Rebels!

The crowd gasps at the news. Murmuring spreads throughout the people. Before they can get out of hand the king starts again.

King: Ladies and gentleman the sun is almost at its peak, and it will soon be time for her to enter the cathedral. Let's give her a few cheers.

The crowd starts chanting. I smile again taking the guards hand he leads me up the steps. The crowds chants gets louder and louder as I near the giant quartz doors.
The sun is nearing its peak when the doors open. The inside of the cathedral is normal, but gigantic! The giant pillars look like a scaffolding spread throughout the area masked by the rest of the building.
I just then realize this is just the entrance hall. I also notice it's gone extremely quiet. I can't hear the crowd anymore.
Another set of doors lays in front of me this time gigantic oak doors. I gently push them open.
In the center of the even bigger room is a pod like bed. The bottom of the bed has a gold satan lining. There are no covers just a bed with a single pillow. Atop it is a glass cover.

I walk over placing myself carefully on the beds. Pulling the glass cover over myself I lay back.
I can see the top of the sun peeking through a window. The small circular window is level with my face. The sun is inching ever closer to filling up the window.
I start to feel a numbness in my legs. The feeling grows to my chest and down my arms. It reaches my neck and stops.
The sun is fully in the window now. I see it isn't moving anymore. The numbness feeling slowly fades away.
My eyes are suddenly clouded over with white. All I could see were 3 light rays two right next to each other, the other about 2 inches below.

~oOo~ Prince Jacobs POV

I watched as Ellie entered the cathedral. She looked amazing. From the time when she first came to the palace I could tell she was smart. Noticing me from that window? Come on.
I watched as the sun peaked into the sky, and stopped. Why did it stop? Is this how it's supposed to work?
Everyone looked bewildered. It was almost as if time had been stopped.
  Suddenly 3 white lights shot out from a high window reaching towards the sun. Nobody knew what was happening, but it was cool!

~oOo~ Ellie's POV

  I could no longer see the cathedral around me, only white abyss. I could walk around, almost as if I was alive there. Then a song started to be sung.

Long ago I came here
Helping those who were dear

When the time came for me to pass on
I started singing my song

The Sun, the earth, the water, and the sky
I watched my time fly by

Let me care for all
Let me care for thou

Those who do wrong will be guided
Those who do good will be provided

When my time comes for me to pass on
I want them all to hear my song

  The song had ended. I realized my eyes had shut themselves the entire time. Slowly opening them I regained awareness.
  Suddenly a bright light came from above. I looked up seeing the most beautiful angel like person ever.

?: You, my child will do great things for everyone. I have lived far too long. I miss my family, and my friends. It's time for me to finally rest, and be protected by another.

Ellie: So. How does this whole thing work? What's your name?

?: *chuckles* I am Avetia. I know this is confusing, but when you came here, I was merely pulling your soul from your body.

  My eyes go wide.

Avetia: Do not worry. This is only the process of combining our souls as one. As I extract my soul from myself I infuse it into yours. You will essentially become goddess of the world.
  With this life comes great responsibility. I have seen your past, present, and future. I can't tell you anything that you don't remember, so don't ask. When it is your time to pass on you will become a spirit.
Remember that while you are human, you body is still yours. Fragile yet strong from the power within. I found that it takes a while to pull out a humans soul. Every time those rebels injected you with a needle, I stopped it. The problem was your body had small.. malfunctions after I did it.
  Are you ready. It's time. I will always be here whenever you need me.

Ellie: I'm as ready as ill ever be.
