~oOo~ Ellie's POV

Ellie: I'll be as ready as I'll ever be.

Avetia: Alright. Clear your mind. This will be painful.

I take a deep breath clearing my mind. I block out the pain.

Avetia: Ok.

She steps towards me stopping only inches away. Taking two fingers she presses them against my forehead, and the other hand rests on my chest.
I can feel something weird, almost as if something is unlatching inside of me. I take deeps breaths to ease some of the pain I feel.

Avetia: I'm almost done. This is the final step in taking the souls from the bodies.
They are both out. You can open your eyes.

I hadn't even realized I had closed them. They flit open looking at what's in front of me.
Two "substances" float over her hands. Without warning she pushes them together. All of a sudden there's a wrenching feeling inside my head.

Ellie: Ahhh.. *puff* *puff*

Avetia: It is almost over. The souls are infused. Now I must return them both to you. Mind yourself, I will become very weak after this. My age will show, and I will finally die. Remember what I said.
I will always be here, whenever you need me.

Ellie: Ok.

This time we both take deep breaths. We shut our eyes. She slowly inches forward. Grabbing my shoulder she takes the hand with the souls in it and pushes it into my body. Our eyes shoot open. I see hers full with light as mine follow.
The abyss begins to shake around us, but we don't move. Within a second the white abyss was gone, replaced by a black void.
We are standing on a path facing a giant statue of the Royal Rose Deity. She holds a giant white orb in her hand. Swirling around inside is the memory of the souls bonding in the white abyss.
I pull Avetia along. Right now she is just a girl probably in her 20's. We wind our way towards the orb. When we finally come to a halt in front of it we turn to each other.

Avetia: No matter what I look like when we get out there, promise me we are sisters for life.

Ellie: I promise.

We pull each other in for a hug. Slowly pulling away and grabbing each other's hands we walk in.
Then.. we're back, but I'm not in the bed anymore. I'm.. floating!? In the bed is Avetia.
Now she looks like a human tree. Wrinkles are everywhere. She has a warm smile while looking into my eyes.

Avetia: I will always be here when you need me.

With that she takes her last breath. The bed is sealed. The floor underneath it rotates before sinking into it. The casket bed disappears and the floor shuts up.
I'm left bewildered. The air smells fresh, not like before. I felt light and extremely happy. My dress had transformed into an elegant white robe. I looked ethereal.
Guiding myself to the oak doors again, I look back one last time. A light shimmers just above it reassuring me.
I pull open the doors and step into the entrance hall, still silent as ever. The next obstacle are the giant quartz doors.
Waiting on the other side are hundreds of thousands of people.
I swallow. As if knowing the doors creak, and then are drawn open by the guards. Everyone looked entranced, even the palace walls seemed to gravitate towards me.
The sun shines down on me. I hear gasps as sparkles of light escape my fingertips. They suddenly shoot upwards just above my head. The shimmering starts again, this time even brighter.

I start to feel I'm being lifted into the air by an invisible force. The shimmering lights swirl around me, enveloping my entire body in a glowing mist. The feeling of flight subsides as I land on the ground again. The shimmering disappears instantaneously.
I hear more gasps. I then look down realizing my hair is now to my waist and isn't golden brown anymore, but an icy blue. Before I know it Jacob has hustled over.

Jacob: Ellie.. your. May I ask why your hair is.. blue?

Ellie: I really don't know, but we better get back to the palace. It was a risk for everyone to be out here anyway.

Jacob: No, it wasn't. It was a blessing. Nobody has ever witnessed this before.

Ellie: Your too considerate.

Jacob: And you're too modest, but your right, it's getting late.

Jacob and I head off toward the cars. This round I sit by myself, considering I'm royalty now, I have to be alone. It's considered rude to ride with royalty unless you are invited by them.

(They arrive at the palace after taking a long drive around Province 1 of Vetia (The Capital).)

Back at the rebel base
Over the phone conversation

FRC: What are we supposed to do Riker!? The spell was broken. Now everybody's going to know. The duke and duchess..

Riker: We'll have to devise a plan to suppress it.

FRC: Won't people just get suspicious if it changes again?

Riker: That's why I said we need to devise a plan. Quickly too. Bye then. I'll visit tomorrow afternoon to discuss it.

The phone call ends with Riker rubbing his temples.

Riker: What have you done?
