It seems so overdramatic and typical when a girl on the big screen acts extremely nervous and jittery before her first day at a new school. When she acts like the people are gonna swallow her whole but let me correct you right here, she's not being overly sensitive, the anxiety of starting at a new school is as real as portrayed in these chick flicks and I realised this just now as I'm in my shower prolonging my time at home as if it would save me from being the newbie.

After hesitantly letting go off the hopes of a meteor shower saving me from going to school I get out and start to get ready for the new day. I've already picked out my outfit and shoes and how I'm gonna wear my hair. No, don't get me wrong I'm not the girl that thinks of the campus as a runway to show off the latest trends and walks in an immaculate appearance with her head held high.

You see I didn't get much sleep last night, overthinking tends to have such side effects instead i spent most of last night planning out today.

Now, I initially decided to wear something baggy and prudish so as to not grab any attention not that I got much of that at my old school or anywhere else perhaps, but then I didn't want to be thought of as a weird hobo. Then I settled on floral dress but thought it would be too formal and a little too bold for my character and then decided on a hundred different outfits and then assorted to wearing a simple white tee and light wash skinny jeans with a pair of white canvas kinda like going through a hundred different food options online and coming back to the same restaurant and ordering the same dish with the same toppings that you have learnt by heart.

I settled on light make up, just a little mascara and clear gloss and headed down with my cute cream bag. My dad was about to leave for work so I kissed him goodbye and went to the kitchen to grab a quick breakfast bagel. My mom knew I was a little scared after what happened in the past few months but chose not to talk about it, she knew how to give me my privacy. She offered to drive me but I declined.

I went out and settled in my car. My car. Such a nice sound. You see my last car was a hand down down from mom when she upgraded. My dad got me this new one just over 3 weeks ago. Its a Mercedes Benz 'C' class and I'm in love with it.

Upon reaching school I noticed the buildings, they were pretty modern and looked maintained. I luckily found a parking spot not too far from the entrance. I locked my car and went in. Thankfully there was an elaborate map of the campus just by the screen doors of the first corridor I entered, I navigated and reached the reception somehow. The receptionist was a humble looking middle aged woman. I reached over and she looked up urging me to address my problem.

"Hey, I'm Hazel Ivy Jene. I was supposed to collect my time table here." I said

"Good morning honey, just wait a second let me check.. ah here you are." she said looking at the screen in front of her.

She pulled out a folder and passed it to me informing, " There's your time table and syllabus for the semester in here. Also your locker number and passcode is in there too." she also gave me a copy of the school map and sent me off with a 'have a great first day'.

Just as I turned around I was faced with a guy, he looked young so I assumed he was the student that was supposed to give me a tour or be some type of guide. He was pretty tall I mean tall for me cause I'm pretty short, not very short though. He was muscular but lean and was really pretty.

"Hey are you the new girl? Hanah something... no wait, Hazel, was it?" He asked a little awkwardly. He was cute.

"Uh yeah I am. And yeah its Hazel. Nice to meet you." I said awkwardly but not the cute kind of awkward like him. I was more of the 'wow she's weird' kind of awkward.

He smiled and blabbered," aww you're cute, dressed like a cute girl and acting all out of place on her first day at the new school and nervous as hell. I'm Ethan btw and Don't worry I'm known to be pretty friendly. not my words." He said the last part under his breath which made me chuckle.

"Just a few things to know and you'll be good to go and hopefully won't land the fate that the new students at high schools do." He continued as we started walking. I must have significantly paled as he added a 'just kidding' quickly after seeing my reaction.

"Oh I'm supposed to give you a tour by the way. But you've guessed that by now. Okay so lets take a look at your schedule"
He said signalling for me to pass him the folder I collected from the reception. I did and looked along with him.

I had first period English and second was History. Hour 3 was Chemistry and then lunch. It was okay I guess. After lunch was calculus and then I had a spare and last was gym.

"Looks like we have a couple of classes together. I have second, third and gym with you." Ethan said and I silently thanked god for that. I could see him and me being friends, he seemed nice.

He showed me where my classes were and I tried to learn the route but couldn't. Oh well, I'll manage.

He then proceeded to show me my locker which was a few lockers down from his.
As I was taking out my new books and stuffing my bag in the locker I heard a very loud and rumbling chain of laughter coming from across the corridor.

I turned around and saw a few guys laughing as they were walking down the hall. Four to be exact. They were all tall and muscular and were really handsome and looked a little..wait a minute..these were the guys from yesterday at the diner and MAN were they mesmerising. I was a little shocked they are too dreamy to just be in high school. Literally every student stopped and stared at them for a second before continuing. They just attracted that kind of attention.

"They are the dream boys slash jocks slash everyone's fav etcetera etcetera. Every school has them. Stop drooling hazel." Ethan said from beside me.

I didn't bother replying, I was still getting over the initial shock of seeing them here after meeting them yesterday.

Ethan told me there names which I already knew from yesterday but I didn't tell him that.

The guys just walked off and turned down the corridor but not before one of them saw me. The one being Alec, the rude one. They all seemed nice except for him.

I continued on though. As the day went along I discovered that I share a few classes with the guys I had Flynn with me and Ethan in history who insisted on me sitting with him when he saw me. His smile was so sweet I swear I melted away.

He kept history from being boring with his flirty nature and childish antics. I can see history was not gonna be boring.

I also had calculus with Mason and Alec. Mason was friendly and Alec was not.

I spent lunch hour with Ethan and his friends and spent my spare period exploring the campus.

Surprisingly I had gym with all the guys and Ethan. We didn't do anything today. The coach just read out the groung rules and explained the championships and games our school hosted.

Finally the school was over and I could go home. Nothing out of the ordinary happened and I was grateful.

I quickly went in my car and drove off just after getting a good look of Alec entering a very dashing black sports car.
