"Oh my god!" I laugh squinting my eyes. I brought my hand up to my mouth as a reflex to hide myself as I hysterically laugh. I felt like I had such a ugly face when I laughed. It was really an unfortunate factor of me.
"Yeah," Harry smiled widely holding his fork on his left hand staring at me with a twinkle in his eye. "He was absolutely hammered." He chuckled referring to Liam.
"So she really didn't know?" I asked with amusement in my voice. I twirled the last bit of spaghetti around my fork and brought the delicious forkful to my mouth.
"Nope."
I smirked. "That does sound like something Liam would do." I smiled softly and grabbed the serviette to dab the corners of my mouth to get rid of any food that may be around my lips.
A waiter walked past and Harry simply lifted his fingers over his shoulder for the young man to stop.
"Can I get you anything sir?" The waiter asked with politeness in his voice as he stared at Harry.
"Check please."
The waiter nodded and walked away.
This was the part I hated. I felt horrible when people paid for my food or basically anything. It made me so uncomfortable and I just didn't like it.
"What's wrong?" Harry asked noticing my uneasiness. I shook my head dismissing him. "Olivia." He demanded asking me again before I let out a huff.
"I just don't like when people pay for me.." I mumbled playing with my fingers while looking down.
Harry reached over and placed his big hand over both of my hands. I looked up to see his face and noticed he was smiling a little. "You can pay next time."
My heart flipped up at his words and felt my face heating. He wanted to go out with me a second time.. what does this mean? Does he like me? Do I like him? Am I allowed to like him being in the situation I am currently in.. it was all so confusing. I forced out a smile and nodded to give his mind peace.
The waiter returned shortly with a padded book and placed it in front of Harry. I watched as Harry shift around his seat pulling his black wallet out, he peered into his wallet and grabbed his credit card and simply opened the book and placed the card in calling the waiter again.
The waiter returned back swiftly. "Thank you for dining with us sir." He nodded his head at Harry who nodded back placing a bill inside for the waiter as a tip.
He helped me out of my chair and we were back outside in the London streets. It was a little chilly and I felt the goosebumps instantly grow on my body. I shivered a little before I felt Harry's warm arms around my shoulder. I looked at him in surprise to see that he was just glancing around aimlessly at the tall buildings while we walked back to the apartment.
I felt content. And I haven't been calm like this in a while. It felt really good.
"Did you enjoy yourself?" He asked as we reached the crossing. We waited by the lights because they were flashing red at pedestrians.
"Yeah I did." I say with honesty. "Thank you."
The lights flashed green and we started to walk across.
"Did you tell Liam?" I ask out of curiosity as we entered our apartment complex. We go through the lobby and the security man nodded his head acknowledging us.
"Um.. no.. but he's kinda got other things in mind."
I frowned at his response. The last thing I wanted was Liam to go psycho at me over this. I had explained myself to him and finally felt like we were at a level of understanding and tolerating one another. I couldn't bear to get pushed around over this.
We got into the elevator and Harry pressed the 'P' button for penthouse. I watched as the numbers at the top increased by each second.
Finally the doors opened to Liam's apartment and we walked in. The lights were all turned off, the lights from surrounding buildings illuminated the living room for us to slightly see our surroundings.
Liam must be sleeping.
I turned back to look at Harry. He pushed his hair from his eyes and his fingers played with the cross necklace around his neck.
I remembered that time I asked if he was religious and he said he wasn't and it was just a necklace. It didn't seem like just a necklace..
"Is that something important?" I asked softly pointing at the necklace between his fingers.
He froze his movements. His tan skin complexion as glistening under the moonlight. I watched as his tongue ran across his bottom lip.
"It was my mother's.." his voice was so quiet I thought I had imagined it. But the movement from his mouth proved that I hadn't.
His mother.. I recalled Harry telling me about her. She committed suicide.. and his fear of blood drew from that. I felt myself sweating as I slowly took his hand and led him to the couch.
"I'm so sorry.." I whispered staring at him. I felt my heart breaking. No child deserved to go through that. No matter how strong Harry thinks he is.. he isn't strong enough to go through something like that.
He nodded his eyes trained on my face. I felt his hand on my thigh and instantly my heart was hammering against my chest as I stared at him in anticipation.
I leaned into him suddenly and our lips were locked like last time. Except this time there was a sureness inside me that I wanted this.
