(Meredith Shepherd POV)

I paced back and forth in Officer Derek's office. I hadn't slept in days. My mind was restless with my Olivia missing.

"Good news Meredith." Officer Derek rushed in. He was holding some files, he gently led me to his office and sat me down. "I think we have a lead."

Usually the police wouldn't dare help me. Especially with my claims that The Circle took her. But Derek was one of my first friends I made when I was fleeing Greyson. He helped me settle into London, risked everything to keep Olivia under the wraps.

"Here," he placed the files onto my lap and urged me to open them. I quickly did and the pictures that I saw made me sob.

"So she's alive!" I felt relief as I flipped through the pictures the street cameras had managed to get. It was of Olivia, she was still in her school uniform and she looked distraught.

"She's still alive Mere.." Derek squeezed my arm for assurance. "I'm guessing she managed to escape them. Which is good and.. it's bad."

I gave him a confused look. "Bad? Why is it bad?" Panic started to surge into me.

"Because she could have been taken from one of their enemies. You told me yourself, Liam has always liked to boost when something goes correctly. He's probably told everyone even his enemies of his new discovery of his sister and mother–"

And that was enough. I started to cry, my poor Olivia was in danger. Everything I had tried to protect her from had just come up and bitten me in the ass.

"I should've told her!"

"You didn't know.. Meredith.." Derek dragged the chair from around his desk and sat in front of me and took my hands trying to comfort me.

"I should've.. known this was coming! I'm such a fucking idiot! A moron to think that I could just hide my daughter away from one of the biggest sociopaths I just–"

"Meredith." Derek cut me off. I looked at his determined face through my teary eyes. "I promise you that I will find Olivia for you."
