JULIANA CECILY SAT ON THE WINDOW SEAL, flipping through her book as she read. Her long, white hair hung over her shoulders, and her blue eyes were glued to the page. "It's not fair that I'm trapped here," Cirilla complained as she paced around the room. The Princess of Cintra was clearly bored out of her mind.
"I could magically put you to sleep, Princess," Mousesack suggested whilst peering up from his own book. Cirilla shot a look his way, causing Juliana to chuckle softly. "Just an idea..." he trailed off.
"It's been two days," Cirilla stated, as if they didn't already know.
"For you and everyone else in the castle," Mousesack said, "The King and Queen ordered us to remain here, and that's what we shall do." Cirilla crossed her arms over her chest, glancing at Sir Lazlo, who stood guard at the door.
"And why are you not there?" She questioned him, "Wherever they are."
"My duty is to protect you," Lazlo answered with a nod.
"You're resentful of that burden," Cirilla huffed, rolling her eyes a bit.
"—It's the greatest honor of my life," he proudly told her.
Cirilla scoffed, "You're all incredibly boring." She snatched the book from Mousesack's grasp, making her way over towards the window seal and plopping down next to Juliana.
"Many, many years ago, sorcerers were known to lock little girls in towers," Mousesack began, "I'm beginning to understand why." Juliana smiled at his comment, finding herself to be more interested in the conversation they were having rather than the book she was reading.
"You know cautionary tales don't work on me," the Princess reminded him.
"The girls were said to be cursed," he continued on, standing up from his spot, "They were said to announce the end of the human race."
"oOh," Ciri exclaimed, catty and sassy like.
Mousesack raised his tone a bit, sounding stern, "So they were systematically killed. The end." Cirilla grew quiet, as did everyone else in the room. Mousesack stood next to the fire, sighing deeply.
